I Spy With My Third Eye

Humble abodes laced through country roads,
Corduroy texture wash outs call for half loads,
Take your time as you move through living breathing art,
Cruise control helps quell anxiety while doing its part,

I could roll on for days as the radio plays,
Take me back in time to the James Dean days,
In the fifties they would rock around the clock,
But now I hip hop through many genres of a musical flock,

My thoughts are interrupted by static on the airwaves,
Shadows enveloping me as though sealed in a cave,
Then bright light blinds me inducing fear,
If anything you could say this day has grown queer,

I've just been captured by an alien mother ship,
My third eye feels space time continuum rip,
I've been torn apart at the quantum level,
Leaving my car behind driven by the devil,

I say this as I feel I'm still in tact with my soul,
So whoever drives my car now does so without goal,
They are mindless on earth pretending to be me,
While I'm toiling unassured interdimensionally,

Where am I, when am I, what am I, these are my questions,
There's nobody around to make any suggestions,
Then I hear a voice asking," What is your mission"?
I have to think hard although I've lost all inhibition,

It's as though I've been given a shot of truth serum,
I replied,"True love, happy family, healthy planetary theorem"
The voice answered," Get to work you know what to do"
Adding,"you're uniquely qualified your treatise will ring true"

I find myself instantaneously back behind the wheel,
In shock I steer into an open field,
Then I hear lyrics cry over the car speakers,
I am that I am I care the same for all creatures,

I'm sure you've all experienced lost time while driving,
You see Father Time and Mother Nature can be conniving,
Corralling your body and mind to do their bidding,
Don't worry it's okay to get caught in the yarn they're spinning.
