I'd gladly take your last dollar to buy a beer for me today,
Friends should support my addiction with their hard earned pay,
My troubles outweigh yours so don't you dare try to compete,
Alcohol is the king of kings that place weight upon your feet,
If I can't have your money I will proclaim oh woes me,
I've found this procedure effective at stealing others energy,
You'll feel compelled to look after me else you feel sympathetic,
But in truth I'm sure most would find this process pathetic,
True friendship should be based on give and take,
But when one is all about the giving it makes his soul ache,
So if you are the receiver you should thank your lucky stars,
Without your generous friends you might well be behind bars,
So next time you see me rattling my cup made of tin,
Beware your emotional state, it may trick you into sin,
It's better that I go home now and take my moral medicine,
Delirium tremens will remind me to fix the mess I'm in.
