Chapter 14

“Nina!”

Nasa bungad pa lang kami ng bahay nina Eros ng salubungin na niya ako.

I smiled at him and walked towards his direction while he ran a little bit to meet me.

He then embraced me in a tight hug though I just saw him last month.  

“I thought you’re the one who will get married.” Pang aasar ko matapos niya akong yakapin.

His face crumpled which made me laugh.

“It’s the devil who got engaged, and that’s not me.” He refuted back.

“Iho, how are you?” 

“Tita!” 

Mom hugged her next while I looked around their house. 

Their house was designed like an old spanish house like Spencer but the difference was, this was built only a few years ago. It is made of hardwood with a mix of modern style, lalo na at ang sentro ng negosyo nila ay woodcrafting talaga. 

This is not a huge dinner but only the closest friends were invited. Hindi rin pormal kaya nagsuot lang ako ng pale yellow dress na umabot hanggang sa baba ng tuhod ko. The sleeves are ruffles and I just let my hair down while my silver high heels were just the only one shining. 

If Spencer is here, I am sure he would say something about it again. Mataas ito pero kaya ko namang ilakad. 

His parents welcomed us next and we were led in their backyard where the pool was. Nandoon na ang ilang kaibigan ng pamilya nila at nandito rin dapat si Kale pero nasa bakasyon pa sila ng mga magulang niya.

Kaunti lang kami at karamihan ay matatanda o kaya naman ay sobrang bata. 

Merong cater sa gilid at meron ring tatlong barbeque stand at kasalukuyan pang nagluluto ang mga cook nila.

Umupo kami at tumabi naman sa akin si Eros habang si Mama naman ay natangay na sa usapan ng mga kaibigan nito.

“Where is the bride and groom? At kailan ang kasal?” Takang tanong ko dahil hindi ko pa nakikita ang Kuya nito.

“Kuya is upstairs…and for the bride…she is abroad, they haven't seen each other yet.”

“What?” Naguguluhan kong baling sa kanya.

He chuckled and extended his arms in the back of my chair. 

“They are both busy that is why. And the wedding would be next month. And they probably meet for the first time two days before their wedding.” Natatawa nitong saad.

“Is that even possible?” I am confused as hell.

He shrugged his shoulders off. 

“Maybe, I mean they both do not have a choice.  Kuya’s fiance also did not have any negative reaction to this, she is workaholic while my brother…hmmm…he just wants to settle down too, and this is fine with him. They do not give a thing about the wedding.” 

I looked at him more confused at the situation. 

Is that even possible? They have not even met each other yet and the wedding will be next month. 

“Kuya is here.”

Eros uttered which made me look at the entrance of their pool area. 

Lumapit agad ang mga bisita sa Kuya nito kasama na roon si Mama habang nanatili naman kaming nakaupo ni Eros.

My face crumpled as I looked at his older brother then back to Eros.

“What’s her fiance look like?” Takang tanong ko kay Eros.
