Hindi ako mapakali. I’ve been looking at the seats in front of me and it is getting uncomfortable each second.
“Are you sure that you are fine?”
I looked at Spencer beside me and nodded my head.
We are waiting for her Mother and Gabriel.
She stayed in a nearby hotel and was not staying here anymore. Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero…that fact speaks volume but I don't want to assume anything.
It is three in the afternoon and we agreed to meet each other at this time.
We are seated at an eight seater wooden table. It was an open area with a high wooden ceiling.
I swallowed and held his hand tighter.
She is wearing simple fitted jeans and a white long sleeve paired with pointed heels. But aside from that, she looked so unsettled which is very odd. She is always confident and bubbly.
But she couldn't even make eye contact with me as she pulled her chair and sat down. Namumula rin ang mata niya. She looked exhausted but it is probably about work.
Hindi rin siya nagsalita o bumati. And when I glanced at Spencer beside me, he looked grimmer than usual.
She then crossed her arms and avoided our spot. Walang nagsalita ni isa sa amin.
It became more awkward and it lasted for minutes until we saw Spencer's mother come in.
I looked at him and his eyes said it all.
“It’s your Mother.” And instead, he held my hand tighter.
I licked my lips and looked at her Mother again as she neared us.
I expected her to sit beside Gabriel who is seated in front of us but she pulled a chair, one chair apart from her. She didn’t even greet or glance at her. And again, this is very odd and unexpected.
Hindi ganito ang nasa isipan ko. They are very close…she treated her like her own daughter. But all I could see right now is indifference.
“Thank you for coming this afternoon…and as for what we have done, we have already talked about this.” Spencer started.
“First of all, I would like to clarify things and that is, Nina and I are gonna get married soon.”
That was sudden.
The blank expression of Gabriel was suddenly tainted. Her tears swelled up as she looked at Spencer, with a shock expression which she quickly fixed when she noticed me observing her.
