We were in the canteen and having our lunch and just like what I am expecting, they would react this way, whenever she is here. Which is of course, almost everyday.

And just like what they said, there she is, clinging with her probably new boyfriend.

I couldn't help but scoff in my head.

Kabata-bata kung kani-kanino na lang nakikipag relasyon. She is what? Grade 10? Just too young for me.

“Hindi ka no’n mapapansin, wala kang pera!”

They began bickering the same thing while I just watched…from time to time. I have more important things to do than to mind others' business. I’ve got my priorities straight, and gossiping about her is not part of it.

I have decided and it is better if I stay here. I can help them with their small business, lalo na at ako lang naman ang inaasahan nila sa mga mabibigat na trabaho sa grocery store at dito sa bahay.

And I already talked to Mama about this. I can’t risk leaving my grandparents who took care for me since I was a child.

It was a good university but I could just double my effort in school and apply for a scholarship later for my law school. I planned to study there with a family friend.

Not just now because Mama is sick.

My eyes automatically flew at the entrance of the library and my brows automatically furrowed when I saw her with another boy again. Different this time.

She is wearing her senior high uniform and the boy beside her is clearly in college.

Pinapatulan niya lahat, huh?

And this is a library for college student, medyo malayo ang building ng mga senior high sa amin and yet she is here.

“Kapag nag break sila, susubukan kong manligaw.”

My classmate burst out laughing but they immediately stopped themselves when the librarian's eyes flew to our spot.

And instead, I looked down in my book and started reading again.

“Nag usap na ba kayo, Spencer? Kinausap ka na?” Someone asked.

“Who?” I plainly asked even though I know whom they are talking about.

My brows furrowed as I tried to digest his words while looking down on my book.
