Kayden Malfoy's POV

"Her death was doubtful.
And, but that great command
o'ersways the order,
She should in ground
unsanctified been lodged
Still the last trumpet."

Her death in question? My Ophelia.

Though she wasn't actually dead, she wasn't hurt, she wasn't mauled, she was not mine.

She was my sunrise after my darkest nights and my beating heart when I thought the monitor would flatline.

Yet I am happy to note that I haven't thought of her too often since I've been with Dominique. We haven't made it official or anything, but we have been sneaking around and have been seen together a lot publicly. A lot of people have been asking Gemma if Dominique and I are together. Gemma just shrugs. So do I.

I'm really starting to like her.

Dominique and I have talked about it, making sure that it was consensual on both parts that we agree not to take this too fast because of my lingering feelings for Ophelia and for her stresses being Head Girl.

Although, on days like today, I end up waking up in her bed with her.

It's been just over a month but we haven't been able to keep our hands off of each other.

My eyes fluttered open, taking in the sweet sunlight and the smell of caramel apples in the winter. Caramel apple is Dominique's favourite scent and she is always lighting candles that smell like it so she can have it all year-round.

She was still sleeping, her ginger hair surrounding her face. Her shoulders were tense, even in her sleep and I could count the specks of freckles on her naked body.

I slid my hand up and down her arm, leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss on her temple. I hummed for her. "Min, it's morning."

Another thing I've learned about this Weasley is that she is in fact not a morning person.

"No. Go away." She huffed, swatting my hand away and snuggling into her pillows more.

She was very cute.

Ugh. Cute.

I used that word.

And I'm smiling.

A lot.

I shook my head and pressed another kiss to her temple. "Wake up, Min. We have classes in 15 minutes."

"What?" She jolted up and looked at the time. "Oh Godric!! You've got to be joking."

She tried to get up and I grabbed her arm, dragging her back down so she was laying on her back.

"What are you—?"

I kissed her, sliding my fingers into her thick and beautiful ginger curls. She smelled like cinnamon and autumn and  I was intoxicated by her. "It's Saturday, Min."

I kissed her again and she then relaxed into it, letting her arms wrap lazily around my neck. I pulled away and grinned at her. "I have a question for you."

She looked at me, puzzled, but smiling all the same. "Yes, Kayden?"

My heart skipped a beat. "Is it possible that you would maybe want to go on a date with me? I know we both agreed not to rush it but we've been attached at the hip for over a month and I don't know if this is the right decision but-"
