She wasn't supposed to love him. He wasn't supposed to let her.

Ryan lay silently beside me, his eyes closed, while I quietly ate the fruit.

"Sir, let's use this opportunity to get to know each other better," I suggested.

"A picnic is supposed to be quiet, Clara," he replied, his eyes still closed.

"No, it's boring," I complained, stuffing my mouth with an apple.

He nodded. "What's your relationship with Tony?"

I smiled. "He's just my friend, sir My turn."

He nodded again.

"So, why did you become a doctor?" I asked.

"What kind of friend?" Ryan countered, ignoring my question.

I sighed, frustrated. "Just a normal friend. So answer me, why did you become a doctor sir ?"

"How did you meet Tony?" he pressed.

"It was a blind date, but we became friends instead. So —why did you become a doctor?"

He was silent for a while, as if carefully considering my words.

" why  were you on a blind date? You're barely nineteen," he asked.

"Oh! It was my best friend. She set it up," I explained.

"Don't do it again" he said.

I hastily nodded in obedience.

"It's lucrative," he finally answered. "That's why I became a doctor."

"Really? That's all?" I asked, disappointed.

He remained silent for a moment before finally opening his eyes. I smiled in anticipation.

"That's all," he confirmed.

I nodded, still a little disappointed cause I knew he didn't want to share.  I became silent thinking maybe he didn't want to chat with me.

I tried looking around.

"What about you?" I heard Ryan's voice and I beamed .

"Well, my mom always took me to the hospital. After school, I would wait for her there, and gradually, I started to love it. I thought it was cool."

He  just closed  his eyes again.

As I looked around, boredom slowly crept in—until I saw people riding bicycles.

"Sir, let's ride a bike!" I exclaimed.
" a picnic is supposed to be quiet Clara" he said tiredly
" no. It's boring. Come on sir" I said
" I can't" he said
" come on , I will teach you" I said dragging Ryan up.

Finally we moved over to the bicycle side

Sir Ryan entered the bike, he drove for a while then he stopped.

" see, I can't" he said

" I will show you" I said rushing over.

I entered the bike and he sat covering me . I took his hands

" this hand here, this hand here," I said

He chuckled, then suddenly took control and rode off effortlessly.

He tricked me

The wind was gentle against my skin, and I felt an overwhelming sense of peace in his arms. I looked at him and grinned.
