Inside a church in Orlean, France, Jeanne d'Arc is on her knees praying in front of the statue of the cross on a moonlit night until she hears the doors open causing Ruler to open her eyes and speaks to the unknown visitor.
Jeanne: I sense your fear. Your sadness. And a dangerous power. Please state your intentions at once.
The visiter is revealed to be Aerith Gainsborough as she stats her intentions.
Aerith: I have heard about this Holy Grail it's extremely dangerous. I need to destroy it before it falls into the wrong hands.
Ruler stands up and turns to face Aerith and refute the claim.
Jeanne: I can understand your concern however as Ruler I cannot allow you to do that. You'll have to get past my cold dead body.
Aerith: If that's what's going to take then so be it.
Aerith summons her staff Guard Stick and gets to a stance. Jeanne picks up her Luminosité Eternelle and rushes towards and throws a swing at her, who effortlessly blocks the attack with a small barrier, confusing Ruler.
Jeanne: What?
She tries her luck with a few swing only to be blocked and pushed back away every time. She tries to get around with agile maneuvers, only to meet Guard Stick as the Servant is knocked backwards.
Aerith: I'm pretty impressed about your fighting style.
Jeanne gets back up as her flag starts glowing.
Jeanne: Thank you. However flattery won't get you anywhere.
Ruler then proceeds to use her power up flag to knock Aerith all they way out of the door she came in from. The Holy Maiden looks on and notices several nonverbal spells to which Jeanne blocks but not before getting hit by one. She recovers quickly as Aerith walks back into the church and slowly approaches her opponent. The two of them swing their staff and flag before briefly separating as the Ancient fires off some more spells to which Ruler deflects and puts her flag on the ground as it glows to prepare for another attack. As Aerith charges in the Cetra is hit by massive pillars of light raining on top of her. As Jeanne looks on she is suddenly pulled towards the light pillars due to Aerith using gravity magic as she unleashes a massive wave of magic to knock Jeanne and her light pillars away.
