Surprise Visit✩。:*•.───── ❁ ❁ ─────.•*:。✩
I stood in the garden, throwing bits of shrimp out to the koi. Thankfully, I have nothing to do today, so I can do anything I want before I go out to see Tanjiro and the others.
"Having fun?"
I gasped and quickly turned to look behind me.
"Tamayo-san!" I said with a laugh, "Don't scare me like that."
The woman smiled and walked over to me, stopping a few feet behind me.
"My apologies, Princess. I didn't mean to startle you," she apologized.
"It's alright."
I turned back to the fish, watching as they ate the shrimp that I offered them. We stood in a comfortable silence for a little while until she broke it.
"Princess?"
I almost immediately noticed the drop in her tone. I turned to look at her, and just as I expected, she wasn't smiling anymore.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"... You need to come to your father's chambers."
The sound of that didn't do anything to soothe me. Immediately, I threw the rest of the shrimps in the pond and sped inside. I made a beeline to my parents' bedroom and dropped to my knees, knocking on the door.
"Come in!" I heard Shinobu's voice call out.
I slid the door open, and inside, my worry went right out the window. My father... he was doing much better. The fleshy skin was still on his forehead, but it looked like it wasn't spreading anymore. Then why did Tamayo sound so worried?
"Did something happen?" I questioned, going into the room.
My father looked at me with his one eye and smiled. That smile... I realized just how much I missed it. I've been so distracted lately that I haven't had time to visit him or check on the Blue Spider Lily.
"Y/N..." He said, my heart fluttering at how his voice seemed to get stronger, "Come here."
I quickly went to his side.
"The Blue Spider Lily... It's spreading. More are blooming. Sooner or later, the cure will be made." I was about to say that that was good news until his smile slowly dropped. "But, we all know that Kibutsuji has eyes and ears everywhere. I'm sure he's already found out about the Spider Lilies. We need to make sure they're secure. So, when he eventually comes here, I need you to distract him."
"Huh? How?"
"I hate to say this, but... I need you to try and seduce him. You don't need to do anything with him. Just keep him distracted."
Slowly, I nodded, not expecting that sort of answer. He dismissed me, and I left the room, unsure how to feel.
"Princess!!!"
"Mitsuri?" I hummed, watching as the girl rushed over to me.
"Princess, Princess, Princess!" She said, tugging lightly on my haori, "It's Kibutsuji...! He's here...!"
It felt as if tons of weights had suddenly dropped onto my shoulders. I nodded and walked towards the entrance. Sure enough, I saw a tall man with black hair and piercing red eyes. Behind him was an even taller man who looked like...
"Yorrichi?" I thought aloud.
"No, that's not me, Princess."
Yorrichi came up behind me and stood protectively in front of me.
"Then... Who is that?"
"My brother... Michikatsu..."
"Princess Y/N!" Kibutsuji said in a booming voice, slowly walking over to us, "Long time, no see! How have you been?"
I pursed my lips and looked up at Yorrichi. I tugged on his clothes to get him to lean down, and I whispered in his ear what my father said to me. He was reluctant to step away, but he did anyway, still standing not too far away. I put on my best seductive face and smiled.
"Long time, indeed, Emperor Kibutsuji! I've been just fine. And you?" I hummed in a sultry tone.
He grinned, showing off some unusually sharp canines.
"I've been doing alright, as well. And please, enough with the formalities! We are family, after all!"
The way he said it made me feel as if I was about to seduce a close family member. We're twenty-third cousins, though, so we aren't that closely related at all.
"Now, I heard that-"
"Have your eyes always shined this brightly, Muzan-sama?" I cut him off, trying to butter him up so we would forget about the Blue Spider Lily.
He looked at me in slight surprise before chuckling and walking closer to me. He put his hand on the small of my back and leaned down to whisper in my ear.
"Would you like to take a walk? Privately?"
I don't like the way he said that, and I don't like the way his breath felt against my ear. But, I have to do what I have to do, so I nodded.
We went to the garden and walked together. When we made it under the cherry blossom tree, he turned me to face him.
"Do you remember the promise I made to you, Y/N?" He asked.
"I... Um... No, I don't," I replied.
He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear and leaned closer.
"It was when you were young... I promised that I would wait for you... That I would wait until you were old enough so I could have you... And now, you're old enough. Do you know what that means?"
Before I could answer, he pulled me into a kiss. I was so in shock that I didn't move. Thankfully, it didn't last long, and he pulled away.
"I know what you're doing," he said, standing back to his full height, "You were distracting me. I decided to humor you. Next time, it won't be as easy."
With that, he walked off, leaving me standing there feeling disturbed.
