Kamado Siblings

The sky was turning a pretty shade of orange, and as I walked through the hallway towards the entrance, I was seriously starting to second guess my decision to leave. I should turn back. This is stupid! Why did I even think of this? But, just as I was about to turn to go back to my bedroom, a voice called out to me.

"Princess?"

I froze up upon being caught. Slowly, my gaze trained over to look at who called for me. It was Tengen, one of my father's best soldiers.

"What are you doing going towards the entrance?" He asked, seeming more amused than anything.

"Um... I was just..." I stammered, trying to think of a good excuse.

He gasped dramatically.

"Were you... trying to leave?!"

"Not so loud...!"

"How... flamboyant of you, Your Grace! But, you know I can't let you leave."

I nodded, turning back to leave more eagerly than I should be when another voice spoke out.

"I can accompany her."

Dang it.

I turned back around and saw Yorrichi, looking as aloof as ever. Wait, why would he want to go with me? He's the type to not be around large crowds. Tengen grinned and leaned against the stone wall.

"I mean, I don't say anything. But if you get caught, the blame's going to be on you."

Yorrichi nodded, his sharp gaze trained on me. Sometimes, it feels like he's staring into my soul. It's kinda unnerving, actually.

"Are you coming along, Your Grace?" he asked, though the way he said it made it sound more like a statement than a question.

"Yup..." I said, going over to walk alongside him.

Noticing that we stood next to each other, he fell back to walk a foot or two behind me. The village wasn't too far from the palace, though it was kept secure by a towering gate. I tried to blend in with the crowd, but since it was getting late, there weren't too many people around anymore, and I stuck out like a sore thumb. Nobody approached, though, because Yorrichi was far too intimidating, even when he wasn't trying to be.

I knew I wouldn't be able to spend too much time here, so I tried to look at everything I could, looking for something that might give me a clue on where the Blue Spider Lily was. I had no luck, though, and as I prepared to leave, something bumped into my leg, nearly knocking me over. Thankfully, Yorrichi prevented me from falling. I looked to see what it was, and I saw a small, dark-haired boy who could be no older than three. He was on the ground, and he looked disoriented.

"Are you alright?" I asked, leaning down a bit to help him up.

I took his small hand, and it wrapped around two of my fingers. I helped him up and dusted off his clothes, which were a bit frayed. After getting his bearings back, he looked up at me and gasped.

"Rokuta!"

I glanced up and saw a boy, maybe around my age, running over. He looked like the little boy, which led me to assume that they were related. He stopped in front of us and pulled Rokuta close, immediately bowing.

"I'm so sorry, Your Grace! My brother got a bit too excited and ran off!" He apologized profusely, which made me kinda embarrassed.

"No, no, it's okay! Really, there's no need to apologize!" I said, waving my hands.

He stubbornly stayed in his bowing position for a solid minute before standing straight again. As he did, a girl ran behind him, and they also looked a bit alike, except her eyes were a purplish-pink, a sharp contrast to the boys' striking red eyes. It looked like she was about to bow, too, but I quickly stopped her. I smiled and glanced away awkwardly, not really knowing how to go about talking to them.

"Um... So what are your names?" I asked.

"Oh! I'm Kamado Tanjiro, the son of Tanjuro and Kie!" The older boy replied, "This is my little sister, Nezuko, and I already told you Rokuta's name."

"It's nice to meet you guys. I'm sure you already know my name," I said, giving them the best smile I could manage.

They were quiet for a couple of seconds, which made me think that I did something wrong. Yorrichi put a light hand on my shoulder.

"I think it's time we left, Your Grace," he said, his voice more gruff than before.

"Oh, right!" I responded, noticing how dark it was getting, "Hopefully I'll see you guys around!"

I waved them goodbye before turning and walking back to the palace, not noticing just how mesmerized Tanjiro was.

✿Sengoku-Era Secrets✿

❥ Yorrichi already isn't too fond of Tanjiro.
❥ I hate whenever I have ideas for a book and want to write them so badly, but when I do start writing, I want nothing more than to finish the book (literally me whenever I write something).
❥ I would like to sincerely apologize to aestheticfrfrbaddie and any other person whom I may have offended for not making Tengen's wives Romantic. I realized and thought about my mistake, and I won't do it again. Once again, I apologize. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me. 😞🙏🏽
