It was nightfall when I left the palace. Slowly, I walked through the streets. Nobody can be trusted... Nobody... My walking eventually led to me wandering into the forest. I don't know what I was doing. I guess... I'm just not in the right state of mind.

I didn't react when I felt a pair of arms wrap around me from behind. I paused and glanced behind me. It was... Tanjiro... He looked crazy...

"Y/N-chan...~" He hummed in a sing-songy voice, leaning his head in the crevice of my neck, "Why did you leave me? I thought we were friends."

Friends...? Friends... We aren't friends... You're insane, and I fear that I may be the same. He eventually let go of me and took my hand.

"Come on, Y/N-chan! My family has been eager to see you since word got out that you escaped!"

He forcefully dragged me through the forest to his humble abode. The familiar scent of iron overwhelmed my senses. Tanjiro slid the door open, and I saw Tanjiro's family. I also saw Genya and the Tokito twins. They weren't alive, though. I've seen so much in the past few days that I've become numb to the sight of dead bodies.

"Y/N-chan!" I heard Tanjiro's younger siblings shout.

They all tackled me to the floor. They all spoke at once, which gave me a headache.

"Come on, guys, don't stress your big sister out! She's been through so much already," Tanjiro said, prompting the three of them to get off of me.

"You're just in time! Dinner's ready," Tanjiro's mom said while Nezuko set the table.

Tanjiro took my arms and led me to sit down. He took the seat next to me, and I looked down at the bowl that Nezuko put in front of me. It was some sort of soup. When I looked up, I realized that everyone's eyes were on me. Slowly, I picked up my spoon and dipped it into the liquid. When I pulled it out, I was met with a purple eyeball.

I just stared at it for a few moments before looking up. My gaze fell on Genya's corpse, and I realized that both of his eyes were missing... This... I felt sick... I screamed and stood. I tried to run away, but Tanjiro grabbed my leg.

"Don't you understand, Y/N-chan?" He laughed, "There's no running away! You're going to stay here with us! Forever!"
