I ended up sleeping in last night, and when I woke up, I saw a letter that was laid beside my futon. Still feeling a bit groggy, I opened the paper and read its contents.

'Dear Princess,

'Hello, I hope you're doing well and that you'll be able to read this letter. I know that the palace guards will probably be really strict about getting this in because of your safety and stuff. I don't want to waste your time, so I'll cut to the chase. Why haven't you been visiting? I understand being a princess means that you're pretty busy, but you used to come over every day. What happened? Did we upset you? Please, come back, my siblings miss you. We all do.

'Kamado Tanjiro'

...

I couldn't do anything but stare at the letter for a solid minute. Jeez, I didn't think he would miss me so much to the point where he would write a letter. Should I visit him? Yorrichi doesn't really like him, though... Well, I guess one short visit wouldn't hurt, right.

"Y/N-nee!"

I internally groaned, knowing that this was only the beginning of being clung onto and whined at. I was immediately bombarded by the younger Kamado children, Nezuko following close after them.

"You came! You really came!" She exclaimed excitedly.

"Yup..." I said in reply, glancing away.

The door opened again, and the Tokito twins and Genya came out, Tanjiro rushing in front of all of them. He had a big smile on his face. He smiles all the time, but something about this one... It unsettled me.

"Y/N!" He said, pushing past his siblings to pull me into a bone-crushing hug, "Oh, it's been forever... I thought I'd never see you again..."

Dramatic much...

"Stop hogging her, Tanjiro!" Muichiro said, coming up from behind him to hug me as well.

"You both stop hogging her!" Yuichiro followed, pushing them both away in order to embrace me.

Genya came over, but he didn't try to touch me, which I was immensely grateful for. We've already been seeing each other a lot, so that was to be expected.

"Alright, off," Yorrichi said, his voice calm but demanding.

Reluctantly, Yuichiro let go, and I was able to take a breath of air.

"Come on, Y/N!" Tanjiro said, grabbing my hand and dragging me inside, "We have so much to catch up on!"

It wasn't so bad, I guess, but near the end of my visit, things got a little weird. Something was... wrong with Tanjiro. He wasn't sick or anything. Or maybe he was. At some point while we were talking, he just went silent and stared at me. He mumbled stuff under his breath, and the look in his eyes... It was like something out of a horror story. It scared me and was the reason why I left.

"Yorrichi?" I hummed as we walked up towards the palace.

"Yes, Princess?" He replied.

"Do you ever think that... I don't know... The Kamados are a bit... strange?"

"Yes." No hesitation... "Don't let that Tanjiro boy try to pressure you into doing something you don't want to. You're the princess, and he's just a son of a Baker. He has no place to tell you what to do."

His words made me feel a bit better. I nodded as we entered the palace, and we went our separate ways. I walked through the hallway but stopped when I heard the sound of voices. I turned and saw Shinobu and Tamayo walking alongside each other. It was kinda odd. Sure, they're coworkers, but they never really like each other. They were only together because of work. But... They seemed to be getting along. Upon noticing me, they both stopped in their tracks.

"Hello, Princess," Tamayo greeted.

I could sense an underlying hint of... fear in her voice?

"Hi..." I responded, glancing between the two.

We were silent for a few moments before I gave a slight bow and continued on my way. It was probably nothing...

Both women let out a sigh of relief as the princess walked out of sight.

"That was close..." Shinobu murmured.

"Indeed..." Tamayo added.

"Why were you talking so loudly? You almost got us caught."

"Me? That was you."

"You little-"

"No! We can't fight, or the princess will come back. We don't want her to find out..."

Shinobu pursed her lips and looked away. Resigned, she nodded.

"Right..."
