Softie✩。:*•.───── ❁ ❁ ─────.•*:。✩
Lord Shinazugawa and his brother are coming over today. Honestly, I didn't expect him of all people to come over. Maybe Genya had something to do with it. Speaking of Genya, with how many times I used to go to the Kamado residence, he rarely visited. Did something happen between him and the Kamados? Maybe I'll ask him.
When they arrived, I was relieved to see that Lord Shinazugawa wasn't shouting at Genya. I still wonder why he was doing that the first time we met. I guess it was just family matters.
Genya went off to do his own thing, leaving Lord Shinazugawa and I to take a walk through the garden. Compared to last time, he's much calmer, and he isn't as rude as he was last time. I think he might actually sorta like my presence, but that's probably pushing it.
He seems really fond of the koi. He hasn't said anything about them, but he kept eyeing them with interest. I smiled and tilted my head slightly.
"Do you like the koi?" I asked, trying to make conversation.
Slowly, he nodded, looking away as if embarrassed.
"They are very pretty, aren't they?" I hummed.
"... Why are you being so nice to me?" The question was out of the blue. Seeming to sense my confusion, he added, "I mean, I was so rude to you in the beginning, so why are you being so kind? I'd imagine you'd want nothing to do with me."
To that, I chuckled and shook my head.
"You aren't so bad. Not really. In fact, I think you're a big softie on the inside, and you just don't want people to know that."
With how pale his face was, it was easy to see the redness that appeared on it. He huffed and turned away, trying to hide it.
"Whatever..."
However, I could feel a tenseness that I only just now realized was present lift.

After Lord Shinazugawa's visit, I attempted to leave the palace, but Yorrichi downright refused.
"You've been spending too much time in the village," he explained, "Maybe... We should spend some time together. Just the two of us."
That was how I ended up spending my afternoon in the field behind the palace, talking to Yorrichi and making flower crowns. After actually taking some time to relax, I realized just how right he was. Time seems to slow down, but in a good way. I didn't have to worry about the bustle of the village or about the Kamados trying to approach me. It was just Yorrichi and I, surrounded by endless flowers.
After finishing up a flower crown made up of Nippon daisies, I leaned up to put it on Yorrichi's head. He paused whatever he was doing and looked over at me. I simply smiled, and that seemed enough for him because, though it was small, he smiled back. We enjoyed our peaceful afternoon, and, as I fiddled with more flowers, I didn't realize the way Yorrichi was staring at me intently, many... unusual thoughts running through that mind of his.
