The past few weeks have gone by in a blur. The Lords have visited me many times over those weeks. Lord Tomioka, Iguro, and Shinazugawa have all warmed up to me during that time.
I'm still worried about Mitsuri, even more so since she seems to hate it whenever suitors are around. Shinobu, her sisters, Tamayo, and Yushiro have all been acting weird, as well. They've been clingier than usual, and they, for whatever reason, won't let me see the Blue Spider Lily.
I hate to admit it, but Yorrichi hasn't been acting like himself very much, either. He rarely lets me go out to the village, and when he does, he stays close to me and makes sure I'm out of everyone's sight. Especially the Tokitos and Kamados. He seems to hate them.
As I winded down and got ready for bed, a knock came at my door.
"Who is it?" I called out.
"It's Sabito, Princess!" The familiar voice replied, "Your father wishes for your presence."
My father... I've been so wound up with the other people in my life that I completely forgot about how sick he was getting. Both of his eyes were completely covered, and he's gotten so weak. What happened to the Blue Spider Lily? Wasn't it supposed to help him?
"Princess?" He said again, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Coming!"
I stood and made my way out of my chambers, Sabito following not too far behind me. I got to my parents' room and kneeled down before knocking.
"Come in," I heard my mother say from the other side.
I slid the door open and bowed, doing everything in my power not to look at my father's face. But it was no use. I couldn't help but get a glance, and the best way to describe it was like looking at a shriveled up grape. I shook my head and looked back at my mom.
"You called for me?"
"Yes," my mother said with a nod, "You've been getting along so well the suitors. I'm sure it won't be too long before you make your decision. So, your father thought it would be a good idea to throw a party next week. Nothing too extravagant, just a get-together."
A party? I haven't been to a party in a while. Maybe that'll get my mind off of things.
"Yes, that sounds nice," I responded.
She nodded and turned to grab something from behind her. She had a white box in her hands, which she slid over to me.
"Your father wants you to wear it to the party. He..." She hesitated for a moment, putting a gentle hand over my father's, which was also slowly starting to turn purple, "I'm sure he would love to see you wearing it."
I nodded and offered a small smile. She dismissed me, and I gave a small bow before returning to my bedroom. I set the box next to my futon.
'A party, huh?' I thought to myself as I went back to getting myself ready for bed, 'I wonder how they'll all react to meeting each other...'
