Mui and Yui, Gyutaro and Ume

To get my mind off of how Kibutsuji visited, I went out to the village a bit earlier than I usually did. I glanced around for the Kamados, but I couldn't spot them.

"Excuse me!"

"Hm?" I hummed, looking to see who called for me.

I saw a boy with long black and cyan hair walking over to me. Upon getting a good look at my face, he stopped dead in his tracks. He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but it closed again quickly. After a few moments of just staring at me, he bowed in a way that made me think that he might've broken his back.

"P-Princess...!" He stammered, "I'm so sorry for bothering you! I-I...! Um...!"

"No, no, it's alright!" I reassured, not wanting to make things awkward.

"Mui, why are you slacking off?"

Another bot walked over to us. The two of them looked identical, save for their clothes and the fact that one of them had a bit of a scowl. The new one looked at me, and his scowl dropped.

"What the-?! How did you-?!"

I laughed nervously and glanced away, and in doing so, I caught Tanjiro's eye. I smiled, happy to be saved from the situation, and waved at him. He smiled as well and walked over.

"You're here early!" He greeted, glancing at the two who I assumed were twins, "Oh, hey, you two! You've met the Princess, I see!"

They looked at him with slacked jaws, and Tanjiro laughed.

"These are the Tokito twins, Y/N. The one with the lighter clothes is Muichiro, and the one with the darker clothes is Yuichiro."

I nodded and gave them a small bow.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both."

Slowly, they nodded, Muichiro seeming much shyer than his brother.

We spent some time at the Kamado estate, and their mother had warmed up to me quickly. I wonder where their father is... That's none of my business.

When it started getting a bit too late for Yorrichi's liking, he signaled to me that it was ready to leave. I said my goodbyes, and we left.

"This is stupid..."

"Oh, come on, nii-chan! If Douma and Akaza saw her, why shouldn't we be able to?"

"She's a princess, Ume! So what if they saw her?! It was probably just dumb luck!"

Two people were speaking to each other. One was a girl with long white hair, and the other was a boy with black and green hair. They mentioned 'princess', which prompted me to look at them. They seem familiar... I've seen them before... But from where...? The girl caught my eye and gasped.

"Nii-chan, look, there she is!" She squealed, attempting to run over to me.

Yorrichi immediately stepped in front of me, blocking me from her view. She stopped in front of him and pouted.

"Hey! What are you doing, Kokushibo?"

"That's not Kokushibo, Ume!" The boy called out as he caught up with her.

"Well, whoever! Move it!"

I peeked over Yorrichi's shoulder, trying to get a closer look at the people to see if I could find out who they were. The girl was very pretty, but the boy was... unsightly, to say the least... But it's not what's outside that matters, but inside!

"Princess, don't you recognize us?" The boy asked, "It's me, Gyutaro, and my sister, Ume!"

It took me a moment to recognize the names, but when I did, a memory suddenly flooded back to me. I remember these two from when I was younger! They were both really poor and sick, and their mother had passed, so I treated them to a meal and some of my pocket money. I nodded, prompting them both to grin.

"See? She does remember us!" Une said triumphantly.

When she opened her mouth, I caught sight of some unusually sharp teeth, which made my smile falter. Kibutsuji has sharp teeth... Does everyone over there have sharp teeth? How does that work? I don't wanna know...

"Um... It was nice seeing you two again, but we really should get going...!" I said, tugging Yorrichi along with me as I went back to the palace.

"Oh- Wait!"

Ignoring them, I quickly left, not turning back.
