Long Evening

✩。:*•.───── ❁ ❁ ─────.•*:。✩

Makomo and Mitsuri had prepared me a lot for the party. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and that I was ready. Despite being a princess, I can't remember the last time I've been to a party.

On the day of the party, I finally opened the box, and the girls helped me into it. It was a beautiful F/C kimono with multiple different colored layers, and there was an elaborate, matching kanzashi to go along with it.

Makomo and Mitsuri were also going to attend, but with how much they fussed over me, it was as if they were just maids. When I was done, they hurried to get themselves ready. Even though they were both in a bit of a rush, they looked quite beautiful, even more so than they already were.

By the time we were all done, evening had fallen. We went out to the main part of the palace, where the party itself was going to be taking place. The servants had worked very hard to decorate it, and they did a wonderful job.

There were already a few people who had arrived, and one of them was Lord Agatsuma. He quickly noticed me, and his eyes lit up.

"Princess!" He called out excitedly, rushing over to me.

I smiled and gave him a small bow.

"Hello, Zenitsu!" I greeted, "I hope you're enjoying yourself so far?"

"I'm enjoying myself even more now that you're in my presence!"

I laughed, and the two of us talked as more guests flooded in. Giyu arrived alongside Tsutako and her fiance, Kyojuro was with Senjuro, who looked very nervous, and Lord Iguro, Lord Shinazugawa was with Genya, and the wives of Tengen - Hinatsuru, Makio, and Suma - all arrived together.

I immediately greeted Tsutako since I hadn't seen her in a while. She was absolutely glowing, and she looked so happy with her fiance. I then greeted Tengen's wives, and, like always, they were so kind to me! I spoke to Genya, and then to Senjuro, though I noticed something off about him. He was sticking to Kyojuro's side and looking around nervously, as if something was going to attack him. How odd.

I then had to deal with being surrounded by my suitors, which felt a bit awkward since they were all courting me. I don't think they liked each other much. The only ones who got along were Kyojuro and Lord Iguro, but they're already friends, so that doesn't count.

I thought it was just going to be people from this side of Japan, but suddenly, the doors opened, and a feeling of dread sunk into me almost instantly. Kibutsuji walked through the door, a disgusting grin on his face. He was followed by a select few of people who I recognized. Yorrichi's brother, that rainbow-eyed man I met, the pink-haired man, and the unsightly man and beautiful girl I met. What in the world are they doing here?! Don't they have their own parties?

Whispers immediately started going through the crowds as Kibutsuji made his way over to me. Just before he got to me, Yorrichi, who was standing to the side and guarding everybody, stepped in front of me, his eyes narrowed.

"State your business," he demanded.

"How rude, speaking to an emperor in such a manner," Kibutsuji chuckled.

"You are not my emperor."

"I just wish to speak to the princess. Is that too much to ask."

Yorrichi glanced over at me, and I shook my head.

"She doesn't want to speak with you. You can stay, but stay away from the princess."

"Alright, alright, you win," Kibutsuji sighed, putting his hands up in defeat.

His gaze shifted to me, and, though he didn't actually say anything, I knew what that gaze was telling me.

"You can't hide forever."

He walked back off into the crowd, and I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding.

'This is going to be a long evening...'

✿Sengoku-Era Secrets✿

❥ On Muzan's side of Japan, the more powerful someone is, the more resistant someone is to wisteria. So, while Muzan is very much allergic to it, he can be in the presence of it, as can Kokushibo, Douma, Akaza, Gyutaro, Daki, and a few other people.
