Throwing on a grey jumper I bolted out of my room and down the stairs smashing into my older brother along the way.

"Where are you going in such a a hurry?" He questioned with brow raised.

"Claire's, it's movie night," I cheered.

"And I wasn't invited?" He scoffed.

"It's girls night you eejit," I snorted giving him a playful shove.

"Well I'd think she'd make an exception for me," He grinned, making me roll my eyes.

My older brother, Gerard, had been in love with my best friend, Claire Biggs, since the beginning of time. I'd be lying if I said it didn't disgust me, I mean I loved both of them but it wasn't something I wanted to think about. Especially if they were going to date.

But I knew in my heart it was bound to happen. Claire was just as in love with him, it was only a matter of time before they admitted it.

"Get your own friends," I stuck my tongue out, pushing past him and reaching the bottom of the stairs.

"I have my own, they are actually on the way over right now," He glared at me.

"Grand. That's my cue to leave," I rolled my eyes.

Yanking open the front door I was met with Hughie Biggs, Johnny Kavanagh and Patrick Feely.

"Hey Scarlett," Johnny shot me a smile.

"Hi Johnny," I nodded.

"Little Gibs," Hughie beamed.

"I have a name, you know," I narrowed my eyes at him.

"I know," He chuckled.

Turning my gaze to Patrick I glared at him and he gave me a tight lipped smile.

I hate him. And his stupid guitar playing, rugby winning, farming face.

And he knew it.

"I'm leaving," I muttered pushing past the three boys and crossing the street to Claire's house.

Living across the street from my best friend had to be one of the biggest bonuses in life. I practically lived at the Biggs house.

Letting myself in I passed the kitchen.

"Hello Scarlett," Claires mam, Sinead, smiled at me as I passed.

"Hi Sinead," I called back as I made my way up the stairs.

Jogging up the stairs and into Claire's room I smiled when I saw my three best friends sitting on Claire's bed.

"Scar!" Claires grin appeared the second she saw me.

Claire had been my best friend since birth, our parents were also best friends which was a plus. She was complete sunshine, she practically radiated warmth. I loved the girl with all my heart. She was the best friend a girl could ever have, it was honestly unfair to all the other girls that I had her nearly all to myself.
