-♡︎Scarlett♡︎-

Walking up the steps to Patrick's house, I sighed. Never in a million years did I think I'd be spending my Sunday with Patrick, let alone at his house.

But he had texted me saying one of his sisters had his car and that his parents were both out, so he didn't have a ride to my place.

And my mam wouldn't let me skip a tutoring session.

So here I was standing outside of his house about to knock on his front door.

I gave the door a hard knock and exhaled a nervous breath.

I didn't know why I was nervous, I hated Patrick and I hadn't felt nervous around him since I was eight years old.

The door swung open to reveal a brunette girl with a look of surprise on her face.

"Hello," She smiled.

"Hi, um is Patrick home?" I asked awkwardly.

"Yeah he is, and you are?" The girl cocked an eyebrow.

"Scarlett," I smiled, giving her a small wave.

"Oh right! Of course! It's lovely to see you," She grinned, "I'm Savannah, one of Patrick's sisters."

"Yeah, it's nice to see you too," I nodded.

I knew Patrick had three sisters, I had met them all back in primary school but I hadn't seen them since.

"Come on in," Savannah opened the door wider and gestured at me to enter.

"Thanks," I chuckled, stepping into the foyer of the large home.

"Patrick's out back," Savannah informed me, "do you want me to show you the way?"

I had been to Patrick's house a few times for birthday parties and things back in primary school, but it had been so long, there was no way I'd be able to navigate the house.

"Yeah, if you don't mind," I nodded.

"Of course," She grinned, "follow me."

She led me through the kitchen and out a door that led outside.

Pointing to a large barn about fifty feet from the house she smiled and said, "he's in there."

"Thank you," I replied, before slowly walking towards the barn.

I was confused as to why Patrick invited me to his house for a 'tutoring session', if he was out playing in the barn.

"Hello?" I called out, stepping into the large barn.

I couldn't see Patrick from where I was standing, but the smell of hay and horse shit filled my senses.

"Hey! I'm back here," Patrick called back, waving a hand to signify where he was.

I spotted his hand in one of the far stables, that was occupied by a large brown horse.
