"You suck," Scarlett giggled, as she slammed a pair of kings onto the table.

"I'm letting you win," I chuckled, dropping my cards down and reaching over to reshuffle the deck.

"Oh, admit it, you're a sore loser," She grinned.

It was our second date and I had taken her out to Biddies for a bite to eat, and the girl insisted we buy a pack of cards to 'entertain us'.

She had forgotten to mention she was an excellent poker player who thoroughly enjoyed kicking my ass.

"Can I get you anything?" Our waitress asked, coming to collect our empty plates.

I was full, so I shook my head and shuffled the cards before dealing them out.

"Can I get a refill, please," Scarlett smiled, and pointed to her now empty glass.

"Of course, I'll be right back with that," The waitress nodded, smiling at me as she collected the glass.

Scarlett raised her eyebrows at me and I shrugged, "What?"

"Okay, so you are an actual eejit," She laughed, "That waitress has been eyeing you the whole time we've been here."

"What? No she hasn't," I gaped, looking back towards the bar where the waitress was standing with her eyes locked on me.

Shit.

I was too focused on Scarlett that I didn't even notice. It was like when I was with Scarlett everything else disappeared, she was the only thing that mattered.

"Maybe she has," I frowned, "But I didn't even realize, and I really don't care. I'm clearly here with you."

"Well she's practically eye fucking you," She crinkled her nose in disgust.

"I'm not eye fucking her back!" I pointed out, "You're the only person I want to eye fuck-," I paused, "Wait that was weird."

Scarlett burst into laughter.

"You've got a real way with words, Patrick Feely," She snorted just as the waitress returned with her drink.

"Thank you," She looked the waitress, trying to regain her composure.

"Can I get you anything else?" The waitress ignored Scarlett and looked to me.

Can't the girl see I'm on a date.

"My girlfriend and I will just take the bill please," I gave her a tight lipped smile.

The waitresses smile dropped before she nodded her head and scampered off.

"You know I'm not your girlfriend," Scarlett rolled her eyes.

"Oh, piss off," I shook my head, "I wanted the girl to know I'm unavailable."

"Just admit you want me so bad," She smirked.

"I'll admit that all day any day," I smiled, and I meant it.
