-♡︎Scarlett♡︎-

It was the first day back to school after winter holiday and I was anything but excited. I knew it was going to be a mess after everything that had gone down at the ball.

Claire and I had a tradition of having a sleepover and getting ready together on this day every year. However, our relationship has been strained. I knew her and Gerard were back on track but her and I weren't.

I missed her. I really did, but I was scared to talk to her.

But I swallowed my fear and entered the Biggs house.

"Oh! Scarlett, I wasn't expecting to see you," Sinead gave me a warm smile, "How have you been, pet?"

"I've been alright," I forced a smile, "Is Claire in her room?"

"Yes. I'm sure she'd be happy to see you," Sinead gave me a knowing look.

"I'm heading up there now," I nodded, walking up the stairs.

Giving Claire's door a soft knock, I then swung it open. She was seated at her vanity, running her fingers through her curls.

"You know what day it is?" I hummed as I softly closed the door behind me.

"Scarlett?!" Claire's face lit up.

"Hi," I smiled.

She was immediately on her feet and wrapping her arms around me, "I missed you! I'm so so so sorry! I get it if you're still mad at me."

"I missed you," I said wholeheartedly, "And I'm ready to forgive you."

"I know what I did was not cool and I'm sorry about how it came out," She sighed, pulling back from the hug, "But it did need to come out."

She was right. The only way to get past it was for it to come out.

"I know. And I think I'm finally learning to live with it. I feel like a new person, Claire," I swallowed hard, "I was sitting in my room and I realized I couldn't be this new me if I didn't have you."

"You're going to make me cry," She frowned, pulling me in for another hug, "I'm proud of you, Scar."

"I love you, Claire."

"I love you, Scarlett."

Walking hand in hand with Patrick around the bonnet of his car was a strange feeling.

"You've got this," He smiled at me, "And I'm here no matter what."

"I know," I muttered, mostly as reassurance for myself.

I waved at Johnny and Shannon who were surrounding Gerards car.

"Feely, get your arse over here! We have a Schoolboys' Shield to win!" Johnny called over to us.

We picked up the pace and made it over to our friends. Releasing Patrick's hand so he could talk to the lads. I rounded the car to where Shannon was leaning in the passenger window talking to Claire.
