The shadowed prophecy

Chapter 13: caught pt.1

It's been a month since I was told I could graduate at Christmas of my 6th year. I agreed to do this as I had thought a lot about it that weekend and I had all my teachers say that I was definitely capable of this and we created an in-depth plan and schedule of being able to do this and scheduling different exams around to which ones me and the professors think would be easier for me so I can study and prepare for my more challenging classes.

I still wasn't sure what I'd do after. If I was going to continue to be Snape's assistant, become a substitute teacher or work for the ministry. I still had a while to figure that out. It was now March and people were starting to talk about April fools day and if anyone was going to do any prank on the teachers.

"Hey El are you going to be able to join us on April fools to prank a teacher" asks Fin

"Yeah I hope so, it would be funny to see the reaction of the teacher we choose" I say with a smile on my face. We were in the library discussing pranks and finishing our homework. I still haven't told any of my friends about me graduating a year and half early but they know I'm busy working. They believe Snape is making work harder to get me away from my friends but it's really not. I see one of pjs friends coming over in a bit of a hurry.

"El, Dumbledore wants you in his office Pj is already there waiting for you." He says and I panic a little and grab all my things and head straight for his office. I get there and the door is open and I see Pj in there fidgeting.

"Hey, why are we here? Is there something wrong?" I ask really worried someone got hurt or worse died.

"It seems while your family were out someone had raided their house. Nothing special was taken but it was a mess. Assuming they were looking for something or someone in particular they were angry and we think it would be unsafe for your family to stay there." Dumbledore says with a concerned look on his face.

"So what going to happen? Are they going to be able to live somewhere else" I ask desperately

"They will be fine they are going to come here to hogwarts for the time being until it is framed safe by the ministry and myself for them to go back." He responds calmly. I'm relieved they would be safe but curious about where they'd be I ask. "Well there are many disused rooms across all floors so we will use 1 or 2 of those rooms for there bedrooms but we also still have empty rooms in common rooms as well they could use. All we know is that they are coming here" I'm just relieved that they are safe and will be looked after. "You guys will be able to go home tomorrow and pack some stuff to bring her if you'd like. Do assume that you might not be able to back so bring as much as you'd like."

After this I go back to my common room and think about what could happen if we can't go back and where we could go for the summer. I then realise I still had some stuff back there and if they had already gone to my childhood home already looking. I spiral a bit and all I could think about to calm myself is to do some coke and weed and drink some. I do a few lines and smoke some weed and drink have a litre of my fire whiskey and I feel so calm and feel like I need to go on a walk around the castle.

While walking around I say hello to people I know trying to not seem high or drunk. But unsure if they think I'm okay or not. I end up at the astronomy tower and I just sit on the railing against the wall for stability and I look out over Hogwarts not sure what to do. At least I got to have a break that afternoon from all my extra study and and classes. When I look down at my watch it's almost 6 and I knew to get down to dinner because I was starving and I hadn't eaten since breakfast because of classes and free periods and then going a bit rough after the meeting with Dumbledore. I could start to feel the after effect of the drugs and alcohol starting to leave my body so I quickly do a little more to keep myself going for the rest of the night.

I get the great hall and find my friends and try to act as normal as I would. This isn't hard and I laugh and joke around with them all. "So have you guys thought of who we are going to prank on April fools. I'd love to know" I ask

"Oh yeah. We did choose, we all voted that it should be Snape as everyone hates him and no one else feels in the entire school feels capable of doing it. We still need to continue what we are going to do and how early we will need to wake up for it" Bella says and we all start brainstorming. By the end of the dinner we had 3 perfect ideas that we all agreed are best so we would all have to vote again later about which one we would after discussing strategies for all of them. We start to leave and I hear my name being called.

"El follow me now." Snape says and I follow being closely. I wonder what's on his mind and why he seemed so grumpy. We arrive at his classroom and put my bag down on one of the desks. Stumped at why he's mad I don't really know what to say to him.

"So what are we doing today?" Asking with a sigh at the end.

"I would like you to tell me about your parents house some of the death eaters have gone and tried to find your parents and they searched your house but they didn't find your parents... they found drug dealers instead. Do you know why I'm bringing this up. I'm going to tell you, it's because they named drop a name, a name that I had recognised, one that I would never had thought would come up... it was your name. Now they said that they made a deal with you that they could stay and do drugs in Your house for a price. I'm wondering why would you do that of all people" he said all this and I stood there stunned.
