Chapter 27: party planning gone wrong

I sat down with my friends and they instantly asked questions of where I was and why I had walked in with Snape. I told them the lie and they didn't know why he needed me to do it instead of quickly doing it himself.

"You do realise he's grading our papers right and trying to get it done by 10 am Friday. He has to get done what's important. No shut up I'm hungry so can we stop talking about me" I say and they shut down their questions and wait. Dumbledore stands to make a speech and everyone quiets down.

"I hope that you all have been able to knuckle down these past few weeks during these exams and can now relax and not worry. I'm sure you all did very well and can celebrate proud that you can continue your studies next year. Now please eat and enjoy." He says finishing up and the food shows up and everyone cheers of course. I was happy to be surrounded by my friends and the family that have been staying with us here at Hogwarts. But I still have a weird feeling that is still flowing through me like we're not really safe right now. I try not to think about it while we eat and I try to eat what I could. After dinner me and my friends made our way to our common rooms with the feeling not feel safe still lingers and gets a little worse just walking in the halls. I communicate this to Severus and Albus straight away through the mind communication.

That night we had planned to convince the professors to let us all have a party in the great hall including everyone here. We wanted to hopefully through this party on Friday so we would go to Dumbledores office tomorrow morning just after breakfast so people could be prepared to get some dresses and suits for it. We had also discussed other subjects while we were at it because it was the end of the year and I won't be seeing them for the summer unless Severus allows me to visit them.

The next morning we went to breakfast and it felt like my blood was rushing faster than usual and pulse was faster too. I tried not to think about and eat something. Once we finished breakfast and Dumbledore had left we waited about 5-10 minutes before walking to his office. We discussed the idea and how we were going to share it with him one last time. As we arrived at his office we heard some shouting, Dumbledore Snape and McGonagall were talking loudly about something. Then I heard McGonagall say something and I knew then that it's was about me.

"We can't risk her life like that. If she agrees to your ludicrous plan she might find something out that could change her entirely and start using again." She said and I feel myself panicking and my friends just look at each other confused about it could be.

"Whoever they are talking about we shouldn't be listening because it's something private and confidential so let's wait a bit long and go for a walk to the lake." Says Gillie and we all agree.

"What if it's someone we know then we might be able to help and r cough the girl to not use again." Says Eli definitely concerned about us. I say nothing and try hard not to panic. Then McGonagall says something else.

"Albus you heard what Severus said about her she has access to it whenever she needs and I'm sure she could get more supposedly for a party but end up overdosing on it. Possibly dying from it and I'm sure her loved ones wouldn't appreciate that the loss and heartbreak wouldn't be pretty to have all those students suffer from it as well. The friends she has might start blaming themselves for not seeing it and you know her hiding spots so we need to check and remove it so it doesn't happen before anything." She says and I start panicking even more. My breathing faster and my eyes prickle with water filling them. I didn't know what to do so I ran to his quarters before they could ask questions. Not before stopping by my classroom to get rid of any evidence first.

Severus didn't show until after lunch assuming he was in Dumbledores office all morning arguing and discussing with him and Minerva. I felt weak and I ended up crying most of the time I was in his bedroom just lying there. When I heard his door open and close to his quarters I tried sitting up but I couldn't so I just lay back down facing more towards the bedroom door. "Severus" I whispered I could see he wasn't sure who was there and where I was so he stiffened and pulled out his wand. "Severus" I said again a little louder and we walked into his bedroom to find me lying on his bed and he looked awfully concerned for me. When he got to me I started crying again.

"Hey, when did you get here? What's wrong? You okay I'm here my love no need to be upset." He said trying to comfort me. It felt like I couldn't talk and after a few minutes of him wrapping me in his arms I fell asleep. Once I awoke I wasn't sure where I was and when my eyes adjusted to the slightly dark room I was in the hospital wing and he was sat with me so I sat up as much as I could while in pain. I taped him on his knee because he had fallen asleep on the chair "Severus, hey wake up" I said and he awoke and looked at me and quickly hugged me. "Hey I'm still alive what day is it today. How long was I asleep for." I asked him and he loosened his grip and sat on the bed holding my hand. He smiled at me with sorrow in his eyes.

"It's Friday don't worry you hadn't been asleep long. It's only 5:30 in the morning only 4 and half left till your results. Do you think you will be able to go back to your common room by then." He says and I smile at him and nod.

"I hope so. That's if pomfrey lets me go." I say holding his hands I still have that strange feeling of being in danger though like someone is constantly monitoring where I was. "Why did you bring me here?" I question him.

"You had a fever and Dumbledore had gone to your classroom to find no drugs so I assumed you had finished it off." He says and I knew he was concerned. "How much did you have yesterday so we can help you further? We want you to know that you will receive extensive care with your drug use okay" he says and tears start flowing down my face without me realising, I looked at him emotionless and told him.

"Not enough to kill me if that's what your asking. I just wanted to stop feeling. Didn't help with the mass crying I had done in your room." I say and he understood.

"We're you using while exams where going?" He asked me and I wanted to be totally honest with him even though I knew he'd tell Dumbledore everything.

"Yes I used everyday since the... you know the death eaters." I told him. "Only because I was stressed and anxious about them coming back during exams again" I said the truth to him. He pulled my into a hug and I winced a little still in a little pain and he held me till pomfrey came and interrupted. She came in with some healing potion which I took because I was in lots of pain with the help of Severus. She said I could leave for breakfast which was in half an hour. So I got changed into the clothes my friends left and freshened up a little and we left.
