Chapter 45

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room.

Taehyung was the first to wake up, his arms still wrapped around Y/N.

He watched her sleep for a moment, a soft smile playing on his lips.

She looked so peaceful, her face serene and content, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of love for her.

Not wanting to wake her, Taehyung gently brushed a kiss on her forehead and slowly got out of bed.

He stood by the window, gazing out at the kingdom below.

His thoughts wandered to the events of the previous days, the misunderstandings, and how close they had come to losing each other.

But now, with Y/N back in his arms, everything felt right again.

Y/N stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, and then her gaze found Taehyung.

A smile spread across her face as she saw him standing by the window, looking every bit like the prince he was.

"Good morning, Taetae," she said, her voice still heavy with sleep.

Taehyung turned to her, his eyes lighting up at the sound of her voice. "Good morning, my love," he replied, walking back over to the bed.

He sat down beside her, his hand gently caressing her cheek. "Did you sleep well?"

Y/N nodded, stretching a little before sitting up. "I did, especially with you beside me."

Taehyung's smile widened. "I'm glad. I want every morning to be like this."

Y/N chuckled softly, leaning into his touch. "Me too, Taetae."

As they sat together, a knock on the door interrupted their moment. Taehyung frowned slightly but called out, "Come in."

Namjoon entered the room, bowing slightly in respect. "Lord Taehyung, Y/N," he greeted them both. "There's some news you should be aware of."

Y/N and Taehyung exchanged a quick glance before Taehyung motioned for Namjoon to continue.

"It seems that Jisoo has been more involved in recent events than we initially thought,"

Namjoon began. "I did some investigating, and it appears she has been scheming in the background, attempting to sow discord between you two."

Y/N's eyes widened in shock. "Jisoo? But why? I thought she was just…"

Taehyung's expression darkened. "It makes sense now. She was the one who caused me to lose my memories and manipulated the situation to make Y/N think I had betrayed her."

Namjoon nodded. "Exactly. She has been working with others, though their identities are still unknown. I suggest we proceed carefully, Lord Taehyung."

Y/N's heart raced as she listened. The pieces were starting to fall into place, and she realized how close she had come to believing Jisoo's lies completely.

Taehyung squeezed Y/N's hand reassuringly. "We won't let her get away with this, Y/N. We'll uncover everything and make sure she pays for what she's done."

Y/N nodded, determination settling in her heart. "I trust you, Taetae. Whatever it takes, we'll face it together."

Taehyung leaned in and kissed her softly. "Always, my love."

Namjoon cleared his throat gently, bringing them back to the present. "I'll continue investigating, but for now, we should focus on getting back to the palace. There are preparations to be made."

Taehyung agreed, and after Namjoon left the room, he turned back to Y/N. "Let's get ready, Y/N. We have a lot to do, and I want to make sure you're safe."

Y/N smiled, feeling a renewed sense of strength. "I'll be by your side, Taetae. No matter what happens."

After getting ready, Y/N and Taehyung made their way through the castle, heading towards the main hall.

As they walked, Y/N’s mind was still reeling from the revelation about Jisoo. The betrayal stung deeply, but she knew she had to stay strong.

Just as they were about to enter the hall, they saw Jimin approaching them from the opposite direction.

His face lit up with relief when he saw Y/N, but there was also a hint of worry in his eyes.

"Y/N!" Jimin called out, rushing over to her. He stopped in front of her, his gaze scanning her from head to toe as if to make sure she was truly alright.

"I’ve been so worried about you. Are you okay? I heard about everything that happened."

Y/N gave him a small smile, touched by his concern. "I’m okay, Jimin. It’s been a lot, but I’m alright now."

Jimin’s expression softened, but the worry didn’t completely leave his eyes. "I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to help you. I should have been by your side."

Y/N shook her head, reaching out to take his hand. "Don’t blame yourself, Jimin. None of us could have predicted what happened. But I’m safe now, thanks to Taehyung and… well, a lot of things."

Jimin glanced at Taehyung, who gave him a reassuring nod. "I’m glad she’s safe," Jimin said, his voice sincere. "But Y/N, if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to come to me. I’m always here for you."

Y/N squeezed his hand. "I know, Jimin. Thank you."

There was a brief silence, and Jimin hesitated before speaking again. "Y/N, I heard about… Jisoo," he said carefully. "I can’t believe she would do something like this. It’s hard to accept."

Y/N looked down, the weight of the betrayal pressing on her heart again. "It’s hard for me too," she admitted. "But I have to move forward. We all do."

Jimin nodded slowly. "You’re right. But just know that I’ll support you in whatever you decide to do."

Y/N smiled gratefully. "That means a lot to me, Jimin."

Taehyung, who had been standing quietly beside them, finally spoke up. "We’re going to need all the support we can get. Jisoo’s actions have put us all in danger, and we can’t let our guard down."

Jimin’s expression hardened with resolve. "You can count on me. Whatever it takes, I’ll do my part to protect Y/N and the kingdom."

Y/N felt a surge of gratitude for the people around her. Despite everything that had happened, she wasn’t alone.

She had Taehyung, Jimin, and others who cared for her and would stand by her side no matter what.

"Thank you, Jimin," she said softly.

Jimin smiled at her, the worry in his eyes finally easing a little. "We’re a team, Y/N. We’ll get through this together."

With that, they continued their way to the main hall, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
