Detroit, MI:
"Tonight, we'll discuss why Ambrose Marvel traded to Detroit after telling us he was never leaving Sacramento. Will the Pistons get their championship this upcoming season?"
Ambrose turned his TV off, every single time he looked up he was on TV. Everyone wanted to know why, and he didn't care to give his reason to the world. He just knew basketball took so much from him, and he wouldn't lose it again. He heard the locks click on his front door, Aries opened the door and typed in the security code after she closed and locked the door. He had given her a key last night after she came knocking and he found out he was a father.
"I talked to mom." She said sitting her bookbag on his coffee table before she took a seat next to him.
"It's not all her fault, you know?" He asked, and she nodded.
"I know, but she tried to take all the blame."
"Typical Bell." Ambrose said chuckling.
"You have to get along with Ben, she's really concerned about that."
Ambrose smacked his lips crossing his arms over his chest, "Why I gotta get along with him?" He asked.
"He's still my dad, and mom loves him a lot." Aries replied.
"Alright, I will try my hardest to be on my best behavior."
"Thank you, now you traded to the Pistons? Do you know the damage you and Cade are about to do the league?" Aries spoke excitedly.
"Honestly, I'm just glad I'm home." Ambrose admitted.
"Have you told anyone about me?"
"No, I haven't even told my mom. Her and I don't have the best relationship, but I have to tell her."
"Mama Marvel is the best." Aries replied.
"Yeah, the whole neighborhood thinks that. I just had it different growing up, she was never around."
"What about your dad?"
"He lived basketball. I had to sneak out while he was at work to enjoy my high school years. He didn't approve of me dating your mom, I don't think it was because he didn't like her, but he just didn't want me dating at all. I love your mom though; she lights a fire in me that just never goes away. He couldn't keep me from her, and her parent's loved me took me right in."
"You still love mom?"
"Yeah, but she made it clear she's with Ben." Ambrose replied shrugging it off. "Now come on let's get you to school."
Isabella had entered the kitchen, she was a bit nervous to have this conversation with Ben, but she had to have it. She watched him hum as he made scrambled eggs, she sat down at the island. "Good morning." Isabella said.
"Good morning baby." Ben said, placing a kiss on her cheek.
"I need to talk to you."
"It's going to have to wait until tonight, I have to cover the office today. Larry is out in Florida, and the guys like to slack off if they're not watched." Ben replied.
"I have a job interview today at the DA's office." She blurted out after he'd dumped his eggs into a Tupperware dish with the rest of his breakfast.
