Detroit, MI:
Hey, just left from with my therapist. We still on for tonight? (5:22PM)
Monica had sent the text to Justin, for the past 3 months they were taking things slow. Just going out, sharing the kids, and getting to know each other again. He hadn't went through with the divorce, they'd agreed to just see how things go before jumping the gun. She was happy she got that, he wouldn't move back home like she'd wanted.
Hubby: Yeah, I'll pick you up at 8. (5:24PM)
She got out the car and headed toward Isabella's building, her name was removed and it now said 'Valentine & Associates' she opened the door walking in and she was immediately met by Bryan. "Bag." He said sternly, she placed her bag on the conveyer belt, and scanned her badge. It lit up green and she walked through the metal detectors, Bryan gave her, her bag back once she got on the other side of the metal detector.
"Is she busy?" Monica asked him.
"Do I look like her assistant?" Bryan asked, as Zach walked off the elevator.
"I can't believe Isabella gave you a job here." Zach grumbled as he walked past her.
"Same here, my mind is gone." Bryan agreed as they'd both went to their offices. All the investigators and head of security office was in the lobby. It was the only way into the building, and they would be the first line of defense if anyone tried anything. Monica got onto the elevator hitting the number 7, the top floor where Isabella's office was.
Once she got off the elevator she'd made her way down the hall and was met with Ellie stepping in front of her, stopping her in her tracks. "Good morning Mrs. Litz, you as well as everyone else in the office knows if you need to see Ms. Valentine or Ms. Washington it's by appointment only. Is there something I can help you with? Seeing as you walked right past my desk without checking in first?" Ellie asked.
"Don't start with m-"
"Okay maybe you should get on the elevator and come back out and we can try this again. Or not? Either way you know in order to have access to this part of the building you have to go through me."
"Is Isabella busy right now? I need to talk to her about just sticking me on traffic tickets, I'm a high profile attorney."
"Yeah, but she only gave you a job to keep you close. You know that saying keep your enemies close? Yeah, she don't like you." Ellie replied with a smile that made Monica want to put her hands on Ellie. Ellie came in 2 months ago and made life easier for both Lilah and Isabella, she kept their schedules together, she ran the office as it needed to be ran. She made sure people were where they were supposed to be at all times, anything Isabella had to worry about before she didn't now. She spent more time in court with Lilah guiding her and teaching her while Ellie kept their lives in tact.
