Chapter 9-The Squad Car

As the girl's embrace ends, Chloe opens her phone. It's not even 1 PM. yet.

C-"Ya know Red we should go off campus for the day."

R-"We can do that?"

C-"Yeah, I could take you into the city, and also show you Cinderellasburg."

R-"That sounds great, but uh, how?"

C-"I have a car silly."

R-"When did you get that?"

C-"My sixteenth birthday, my parents had our staff deliver it here when I moved, it's been sitting out in the parking lot since I got here."

R-"Ya know, I wanna say something about being a princess, but I don't want you to change your mind, so let's go."

Chloe laughed as she grabbed her purse and Reds hand, then exited their dorm. They made their way down the corridors and out past the entrance, turning left leading into a massive parking lot. Chloe located her vehicle. It was blue, because why wouldn't it be? Surprisingly, it wasn't a fancy sports car or anything, just a mid-2010s Ford Fusion. The girls entered the car, and Chloe backed out of the parking lot and entered the highway, Red hadn't seen this on her way into the Auradon, so it was a lot to take in, soon Chloe merged off the highway and into the busy downtown of Auradon City, she pulled into a parking garage and found a spot to park. The girls exited the car and walked along the sidewalk onto the main strip of the downtown sector. There was a lot Chloe wanted to show Red.

As they walked down the road, which was named Beast Boulevard, Chloe pulled Red into an ice cream parlor.

C-"What do you want?"

R-"What?"

Chloe points at the menu.

C-"What type of ice cream?"

R-"Uhh, Chocolate."

Truth be told, Red didn't know what ice cream was, but she did know she liked chocolate due to the school's breakfast muffins, so she took a guess she'd like this too. Chloe pulled out her debit card and walked up to the counter.

C-"Two chocolate cones, please!"

Chloe paid with her debit card, and the girls were handed their cones. They then exited the store as Red took a lick of her Cone. She definitely made the right choice.

R-"Wow, this is good."

C-"Yep, best ice cream in the whole area."

Red heard a noise off in the distance. It was a distinct wailing noise.

R-"Uh Chloe, what's that noise?"

C-"That is a siren."

R-"Whats it mean."

C-"That someone is probably having a bad day."

Red looked down the road, and she saw flashing red and blue lights coming towards them, and the noise was getting louder. As the mess of flashing lights came closer, the noise changed, now making a fast paced yelping sound, she looked at the car, it was a dark blue SUV, the roof was yellow however, it had yellow stripes going down the side and the Auradon crest over its front doors. Red felt the ground start to shake slightly as the noise deepened. The SUV made a quick turn around a stopped vehicle, ran the red light of the intersection, and roared past them.

R-"What was that?"

C-"A cop car, specifically Auradon State Patrol unit."

R-"Ok...what's a cop car?"

C-"You guys didn't have cops in Wonderland?"

Red shook her head.

C-"Well, it's a organization that fights crime and keeps people safe, that car is what they ride around in, and the lights and sirens are so people know they are coming so they can move out of their way."
