Saturday, 27th August, 2024-Auradon Prep

Sunrays danced through the window of the dorm. Chloe had fallen asleep facing the window and, as a result, was nearly blinded as the sun came out that morning. Chloe slowly exited the bed, looking back at Red, who was still sound asleep, Chloe thought Red sleeping was the cutest and most peaceful thing in history, and yeah, she was right. Chloe walked into the bathroom, did her morning freshen up, and decided to head to the cafeteria to grab breakfast for herself and Red. She carefully exited the dorm, trying not to wake Red.

Red woke up a few minutes after Chloe had left to some students running down the hall laughing, god, it was too early for this. Red got up and noticed Chloe was gone. She searched around the room without any luck. Red grabbed her phone to text Chloe. She saw the text alert from Chloe.

Chloe -"I went to go get us breakfast, I'll be back soon, love."

Red saw the time, 6:13 AM, ugh. Red decided to go freshen up while she waited for Chloe to come back. After a few minutes, Red landed back in her bed, still waiting, and becoming increasingly bored. She pulled out the deck of cards her mother had given her the day prior and started to play with them, the muscle memory returning almost instantly. Red continued to play with the cards, ocasionally throwing one out of the deck, pink sparks flying as it hit the wall, the card reappearing in the box right after.

Chloe was still waiting in line. It seems like every student had decided to get up early for breakfast today, and the line stretched out of the cafeteria and down the hall. Finally, Chloe had gotten to the front and grabbed milk and muffins for her and Red. She then began her trek back to their dorm. Red heard her footsteps coming up the hall. She figured it was Chloe and decided to play a little joke on her. Red grabbed a card, and she focused. The card started to glow a dull pink as she infused it with her magic. Red heard the footsteps get closer, then stop, the door handle giggled before opening.

Chloe opened the door, she saw Red awake on her bed, then saw a sparking burst of pink head her direction, it stopped just before her, a small silent explosion of pink energy in the shape of hearts erupted from the larger energy burst, before it all ended. Chloe looked at Red, who was smiling at her, Chloe walked toward her.

C-"What was that?"

R-"Me showing you how much I love you!"

C-"That looked like magic to me."

Chloes tone was serious, but with a hint of playfulness.

R-"Magic, no, that was just my love for you bursting out of my body."

Chloe sat the milk and muffins down on the table between their beds before she sat on Red's bed.

C-"Shouldn't that stay in your body?"

R-"No comment."

The girls both laughed

C-"Well, I got you a muffin, and you can show me what's up with those while we eat."

Chloe pointed to the deck of cards in Reds' lap.

R-"These were my moms. She gave them to me before she left yesterday."

C-"So are they the cards you told me about then?"

R-"Yep."

C-"How do they work?"

R-"Well, it's kinda hard to explain. I hold one or more cards, and I think about whatever I want the card to do. At the same time, I let out a small amount of magic, which is basically transferred into the card. Then I flick the card at a target, and the card does what I told it to."
