Chapter 38-⚠️Intercepted⚠️

⚠️Again, do i even have to tell you?⚠️

*takes place literally right after the last chapter*

R-"Fuck."

Red, Chloe, and McCain all turned to face Maleficent, who had a smug look on her face, her Staff pointed towards them.

Mal -"Came to rescue your mom?"

R-"Yeah."

Mal -"Did you really think it was gonna be easy?"

R-"No."

Mal -"I swear I'm the only one with a brain I this world."

Maleficent pushed her staff towards Red, a bolt of neon green energy shooting from its tip. Red tried to dodge, but the bolt hit her square in the chest, knocking her down. McCain drew his MSR Pistol and began to fire at Maleficent, who used her staff to absorb the rounds. By this point, the other VKs had heard the fight start and were on their way to assist. Chloe checked on Red, who slowly got up, her vest smoking with a giant scorch mark over her heart. McCain continued to fire at Maleficent, but none of his rounds managed to land until his mag was empty. Maleficent sent a bolt of energy at McCain, catching him as he attempted to reload, knocking him off the edge of the fish body and onto the ground below, his pistol falling from his grasp. Maleficent stepped forward, aiming her staff at McCain. He drew his actual pistol and pointed it straight at Maleficent, but she just laughed. The tip of her staff began to glow green again, and McCain's finger slid onto the trigger.

Bang bang bang. Maleficent hissed as she fell to the ground almost dramatically. She tried to cast the spell, but her staff refused to fire. Maleficent looked up at Red, pistol in hand, pointing directly at her.

R-"Drop your staff."

Surprisingly, Maleficent listened, and her staff clamored to the ground. McCain came to his feet, moving in to cuff Maleficent before being tackled by Hades, who had been sneaking around the backside of the lake. Hades and McCain traded punches before Hades attempted to scorch McCain, whose vest barely managed to save him. Red mag dumped Hades. Luckily, her shots were on point, and Hades powers ceased to work. Chloe slid off the fish, pointing her sword towards Hades and Maleficent, who both put their hands up as Chloe backed them against the fish. Red slid down the fish as well, while McCain came to his feet again.

R-"It's over."

Red had her gun pointed at Mal, while Chloe had her sword pointed at Hades, while McCain searched for his MSR Pistol.

U-"No, it's only just begun."

Red turned as Uliana came running, tackling her to the ground, Maleficent joined in the dog pile before they both went flying as Red blasted them both with her magic. Chloe had moved to assist Red, giving Hades an opportunity to disarm her and throw her to the ground. McCain came around the corner and tackled Hades again before putting his gun right to the gods face. Hades chuckled as Maleficent swung her staff into McCain's face. He hadn't expected her to use it as a normal weapon. As Hades got back up, his hair reignited, Red saw this and went to shoot him again, but Uliana pulled her back to the ground. Chloe had managed to grab her sword back and ran at Uliana. Chloe took a stab at Uliana, but her tentacles grabbed at Chloe instead, stopping her blade inches from her body before throwing her to the ground. Red had managed to wiggle away while Uliana was distracted and had pulled her cards out. She threw a card at Uliana, which exploded against her, sending her to the ground. Maleficent, who had gotten her powers back, fired a bolt at Red, but she countered with a bolt of her own. McCain ran up behind Maleficent with his taser, drive stunning her in the back as he pushed her to the floor. Red ran for Hades, who prepared to scorch her, right as he did however, Chloe jumped infront of Red, taking the hit for her, sending her to the ground in a smoking heap of blue. Red didn't stop. However, she sent a bolt of energy straight at Hades, catching him off guard and sending him into a tree trunk.

R-"McCain, get over here."

McCain forced Maleficent back into the ground as he ran over to Red, who had pulled the pocket watch out. She put the chain in Chloe's hand as McCain grabbed on. Before they knew it, they were standing in the pavilion of the Enchanted Lake in modern-day Auradon. Red looked at Chloe's lifeless body, she checked for a pulse, luckily it was strong, but Chloe had a nasty burn mark along her lower stomach where the vest didn't cover. Red timidly lifted the fabric of Chloe's shirt, revealing a half bleeding half charred patch of skin about as large as a fist.

Back in 1995, the villains were beginning to recuperate, and Uliana was pissed. She stormed up to Bridget, who had just recently woken up.

U-"Your little brat and her friends just tried to save you."

B-"I swear if you hurt them."

U-"I didn't hurt them, Hades, on the other hand."

B-"When I get out of here, I'm going to kill you."

U-"Oh, relax, she'll live, for now at least."

B-"Your such a sea bitch it's not even funny."

U-"Your little brat has pissed me off enough, I'd suggest you stop while your ahead."

B-"No, because you deserve to hear it, fuck you and your little crew."

U-"Never learn do you."

Bridget heard something distinctively metal flick open, before feeling a sharp pain in her stomach, then cool steel slowly slide into her flesh. Bridget let out a pained moan, looking down at the switchblade Uliana had just slowly driven into her. Uliana slowly twisted the blade, Bridget could feel it dig and cut into her, each movement causing her to cry out.

U-"Not so tough now."

Uliana drove the blade deeper, Bridget felt it drive further into her body.

B-"Tougher than you."

Bridget managed to squeak out. Uliana pulled the blade from Bridget, blood leaking like a fountain from the wound.

U-"Looks like you've sprung a leak."

Uliana laughed as Bridget's vision began to fade before she passed out from the blood loss. What Bridget didn't get to see was Uliana using her powers to heal her. Uliana then walked away, a fresh pool of blood on the floor, the only sign of what had just ooccurred.

Back in the present, Red and McCain had simply set Chloe down in the Enchanted Lake, Red knew the water would heal her since the wound was caused by magic, and sure enough, it did, but that didn't fix the bigger issue, they had left empty handed.

R-"We need a new plan."

C-"One where I don't almost die."

R-"That wasn't part of the original plan."

C-"I know, I was joking."

M-"We need to just wait them out, wait for them to leave, and then go save your mom."

R-"That only works if they actually leave, and since they have her locked up there, they may not."

M-"Then we scout them out, figure out our plan from there."

R-"Good of a plan as I have, what about you, Chlo?"

C-"Im down for whatever."

M-"I just realized we left my truck in the past."

R-"We can get it back later."

M-"Yeah, I'm gonna call someone to pick us up."

McCain walked away as he called a coworker, while Red held Chloe tightly. After awhile a ACPD unit rolled up to collect the three, taking them back to the armory to replace their damaged equipment. This time, McCain grabbed them all steel plated vests with enchantment instead of the Kevlar ones from before. They also all got a holster with two sets of enchanted hamdcuffs, and Chloe was given a duty belt with a holster and MSR Pistol, Red practically forced her to take it as her sword was still in the past and she was weaponless. After they had sufficiently rearmed themselfs, they headed back to their "taxi" and drove to the lake where they waited for the morning.

Fight scene #1 in the books, also next chapter is were its gonna get really fucked, and I mean REALLY fucked, so yeah be ready for hell.
