Chapter 25-⚠️Bloody Red⚠️

Saturday 19th October 2024-Random rooftop in Auradon City

Blood is an interesting thing, especially when yours is different from everyone else's. Red looked down at the cut across her wrist. The blood leaked down her forearm, and the sever in her flesh burned, but she enjoyed it. Red watched her blood run down onto the concrete rooftop. It looked mostly the same as normal blood, but it had a slight iridescent shimmer to it. Red held a small knife in her other hand. She carried it typically in a holster on her boot. Red felt a sense of peace wash over her body, and she watched her shimmering blood slowly drain from her body. She continued to watch as the wound stopped leaking and slowly fused back together, the pain subsiding alongside. Red was a human, but not a normal one, Wonderland gave its inhabitants weird and wonderful attributes, and the royal bloodline itself was full of magic and other abilities that would confuse a fairy, let alone a human. Bridget, and by extension Red, both had an increased healing factor to compliment their inate magic, their powers were bloodborn, meaning it was channeled through their vascular system, this was different from a fairy for example, whose powers Channel from their nervous system, making her unique amongst magic users.

Red took the knife to her skin again, cutting deep. She felt the blade pierce into her skin and drag along it. The pain was almost calming to her, it had been her coping mechanism for a long time. No one would ever know it, however, as her healing factor not only healed wounds quickly but also healed scars, making it impossible to tell she had ever cut herself to begin with. Red had discovered her condition by accident, she had intended to kill herself after her mother had executed the guard she kissed, attempting to slit her wrist with a knife she stole from the kitchen, but had discovered her wound would heal quick enough to not bleed out. Now, years later, Red was far more calculated with how she went about her business, and she purposely cut herself to lose just enough blood to become lightheaded, but not enough to pass out, essentially giving herself a "high".

Chloe and Company had no luck so far. The ACPD K9 team had lost Red's sent, and I hadn't seen anything since. Chloe was on the verge of panicking, and Heidi and Dizzy were attempting to calm her down. McCain had met up with Geigos and K9 Chase, taking them back to their car before the entire force met up with Chloe and company in the parking lot of a restaurant.

M-"Am I the only one confused as to why we can't find a girl who only wears bright red? She's a freaking highlighter it shouldn't be this difficult."

McCain's joking managed to lighten the mood amongst the congregation, soon enough it was back to hunting, McCain had called in county units to assist, and his brother had brought a few CPD officers over from Cinderellasburg to assist aswell. Squad cars fanned out amongst the streets of Auradon City. They already were doing a better job than the Queen of Hearts guards ever did trying to stop Red, but still couldn't manage to locate her.

The Princess of Hearts had seen the cruisers fan out from her vantage point on the building, she didn't know they were for her, but she decided it was better to hide and stay out of their sight rather than be found. She jumped across the roof onto the next building before sliding off the awning landing on the ground into a roll before getting up and continuing. She sprinted through the alley headed for the river, and then she saw the dim glow of red and blue lights, a ACPD cruiser with its steady burn light on rolled bast the exit to the alley, Red slid behind a dumpster, hoping the car hadn't seen her. All at once, the alley became engulfed in white light as the squadcars alley lights and spotlight were activated. Red heard the car's door shut. She didn't have any options other than run, so that's just what she did, taking off back the way she came.

G-"243 I've got Red in the alley between Beast and North 5th, running south."

McCain and every other unit began to converge on the location as Geigos chased Red down the alley. She was faster than him, but she couldn't outrun a radio.
