"No movement"
I look over and see Nova’s finally asleep. Glancing back to the road, I drive down and find a parking spot near the shop's apartment. I turn the car off and check my phone. I see I have a message from my V.P
“We’ve got eyes on the Serpent’s. They haven't made any new moves. They seem to be laying low right now.” I shut off my phone and slide it back into my cut. I hop out of my truck and walk over to the passenger side. I slowly open the door and wedge my arm between it to grab Nova.
I unbuckle her seatbelt, check her pockets for keys and pick her up bridal style. I walk towards the building, unlock the door and reset the locks once I'm done. Walking up the steps I notice some are loose. I’ll have to have some of the brothers come look at them. I don't need my Nova getting hurt on her steps.
Unlocking the apartment door, I walk in and notice she hasn't unpacked at all. I head over to the worn out couch and slowly place her on it. I see a blanket on the back and smell it. No musty smell so she must have laid it down. I tuck her in and sit on the chair next to her, kicking my legs up and closing my eyes. The last thing I remember is that I’ll keep Nova safe at all costs.
“Madz? Madz wake up.” I hear a light voice waking me from my sleep. I jolted up and see Nova staring at me. The moonlight shining on her face, and her eyes sparkling so lightly. She truly is beautiful.
“What time is it?” I pat my chest checking my cut for my phone. Pulling it out I realize it’s dead. Well that's not good.
“It’s only 3 a.m. Let’s get your phone on the charger in case someone needs you. I set up the air mattress in my bedroom.” Damn, how could I not have heard any of the noise. I need to be alert at all times. Keeping her safe is my top priority. Shaking my head I stand up and walk towards Nova.
“You could have woke me up Darlin’. I would have set it up for you.” She glances over her shoulder with a smile and heads towards the bedroom. That smile is everything.
“It’s alright, it was really simple to set up.” She starts to fidget with her shirt and looks into her bedroom and then back at me.
“What is it sweetheart?” Nova glances at me and I see a light blush on her cheeks.
“We can go umm…lay down in the bedroom. To sleep if that's okay.” Her blush grows and I just smile at her. She wants me to go lay down with her and if that doesn't just fill my soul even more.
“I can sleep out on the couch or the chair. I really don't mind.” A light reminder she has a choice. She will always have a choice with me. I won't ever take that away from her.
“No!” she yells. “Sorry, no. I really just want to lay next to you. If that's okay.” Standing up I walk over and grab her face in my hands gently. I stroke my thumb back and forth over her soft skin. It’s so soft.
“You could ask me for the moon and I’d do my damndest to get it to you. You can ask me anything. Okay?” I remove my hands from her face and grab her hand. We head into the bedroom and I look at what we’ll be sleeping on. “Darlin’ when are you getting a new bed?
“I had to leave my other one behind. I only took what I could fit into my car. So I guess whenever I get around to it.” There is no way I’m letting her sleep on this every night. I’ll text the brothers later today and get her a bed.
“Okay, let's get you some more medicine and lay down for the night.” I walk out of her bedroom and head into the kitchen, grab some water and her medicine. I pull two out and hand them over.
“Madz?” I hear in such a light and sweet voice. I could hardly hear her but I did.
“Yes sweetheart?” Looking into her eyes I can see them sparkle and my heart stops.
“Thanks for today. For everything really.” She's really trying to thank me? Has no one ever taken care of this girl. I’ll have to ask her.
“You don't have to thank me for anything. Ever, okay? Let’s lay down now.” I lead her to the bed and we both lay down. I try to get in a comfortable spot but I don't think that will happen tonight. I’m not sure how much sleep I’ll get but maybe with Nova I’ll sleep like the dead.
Nova rolls to her side and looks at my eyes, then my lips. I give her a small grin. “You need something darlin’.
“Wha-what? No.” She blushes more than she ever has. I grab her face and pull her close. Our noses are touching. A move so simple but it feels like everything. My heart pounds and I can feel hers.
“Madz. What are you doing?” One of my hands finds the back of her head, and I gently cradle it in my hands, avoiding where she was hurt. I lower my lips to hers. When my lips meet hers I feel a warmth in my body I’ve never felt before. Kissing women was never my thing, but with Nova I NEED it.
Nova opens her mouth and lets me in. My tongue finds hers and they dance together. My whole body erupts with a feeling I’ve never felt before and I don't want it to end. I finally pull away and I lean into Nova’s forehead.
“Did I do something wrong? I’m sorry if I did.” God, this girl is something else. Always think she has done something wrong.
“No, I just need to take things slow with you. Okay, you’re my endgame. My forever. Let’s go to sleep.” I tug her as close as I can to me and she lays her head on my chest. She makes me feel in ways I’ve never felt before.
I feel Nova’s breathing soften and I know she's fallen asleep. She fits me so perfectly like this. I’ve never thought of my future beyond the club, but now I see a whole new life ahead of me, and I can't wait for it to continue. I lightly kiss her head and breathe her in.
“Baby, I’m never letting you go.” With Nova so close to me with her smell, her warmth I close my eyes and then I let sleep pull me in.
