RUVIK

It's been two weeks since Rui and I started dating, and everything is going remarkably well. Rui is truly amazing, and what sets her apart is that she doesn't fear me; she doesn't judge me. She loves me for who I am. We decided not to tell her parents or Ryuk about us just yet, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I won't pressure her into anything she's not comfortable with.

I hate to admit it, but Ryuk is doing a pretty decent job as the CEO. However, I'd never tell him that to his face. I still harbor some resentment towards him. On the bright side, his workload keeps him occupied, which means more time for me and Rui. When he finishes work, he heads straight here, barely spending time in his penthouse.

Rupert and the team returned after their mission to find that demon, but they didn't locate her. Now, I've decided to go after her myself. I understand the risks, but I can't leave Rui alone. I don't trust her safety with anyone else.

Today, I had to visit the Illuminati office, which meant leaving Rui for a while. She was already upset with Taylor. Taylor had blocked her on all social platforms two weeks ago, and Rui had no idea why. Little did she know, Taylor had moved away shortly after we returned from New York, and Rui was completely unaware of this.

When Rui casually inquired about Taylor to the watchman today, he mentioned that she had moved out. Rui was deeply hurt and felt like she had failed as a friend. She couldn't understand why Taylor had cut ties with her. Because I told her to and, I knew the reason, and only I, besides Taylor, was privy to it. It's for the best that Rui never finds out the truth; some things are better left unsaid.
I had prepared a special dinner for Rui, her favorite Indian dishes: chicken masala and tandoori roti, accompanied by a cold Coca-Cola. As the delicious aroma wafted through the room, Rui smiled and said, "This smells so good, my king."

I couldn't help but smirk as I replied, "Definitely because I cooked it." I was about to savor her praise when the doorbell rang.

Rui looked at me, puzzled, and I assured her, "I'll get that." I strode to the door and swung it open to find Ryuk standing there, ready to barge in. I blocked his way and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Ryuk, never one to back down, retorted, "Whoa, man, what are you doing?"

I couldn't contain my irritation and snapped, "You're the CEO, yet you have the time to come here and waste it?"

Ryuk chuckled and responded, "Well, you're the owner of my company, among others, but I've never seen you work. That's weird, right? And ironic, so jokes on you, buddy."

Anger coursed through me, and I seethed, "I'm your boss; mind your language."

Ryuk laughed off my anger and challenged, "Fire me, then. I don't care. I know you won't do that because you gave me this job so I couldn't be close to Rui."

I had to give him credit for figuring that out. With sarcasm, I remarked, "Wow, Roger, you're not as dumb as I thought. It's good that we're on the same page now. Now, get lost."

Ryuk smirked and shot back, "It's Rui's apartment, not yours, boss. And by the way, my name is Ryuk."

I rolled my eyes and retorted, "Whatever, raccoon. Now, get lost."

Ryuk seemed determined to provoke me further and said, "Funny story, I tried to search your name on Google. I found information about your work and your name, but there are no pictures of you on the internet. What's up with that?"

I clenched my fists, resisting the urge to compel him into silence. Before I could react, Rui appeared behind me, greeting Ryuk with a warm, "Hey, Ryuk."

I pretended to smile and chimed in, "I was just telling Ryuk how great he's doing his job."

Ryuk, ever the opportunist, seized the moment and exclaimed, "Rui, good news! Ruvik asked me to find a house for him, and I did. He loves it."

Rui's voice wavered as she asked, "So you're moving out?"

I interjected quickly, "No, he's nuts. Let's just have dinner."

Reluctantly, we all sat down in the living room to eat while watching Rui's favorite movie, Toy Story. Rui sat in the middle, with me on her right and Ryuk on her left. I couldn't help but notice despite the ample space on the couch, Ryuk seemed glued to Rui. his shoulders and arms constantly brushing against Rui's. It infuriated me to no end, but I tried to hide my irritation.

The next day, I couldn't shake the unsettling feeling that had taken root in my mind. Determined to find answers, I headed back to the Illuminati office in hopes of meeting with Anastasia. Unfortunately, the receptionist informed me that she was on leave, which left me with an insatiable need for closure.

I knew Anastasia's address, and my boiling anger drove me to her house. Each step I took was heavy with anticipation, a mixture of dread and determination fueled by a need to uncover the truth.

When I arrived at her house and saw Rui's car parked in the driveway, my world crumbled around me. Shock coursed through my veins, and I stood there, frozen in disbelief, my heart pounding like a war drum.

I had scoured every corner for evidence that Rui might be involved with the Illuminati, but I had found nothing. My trust in her had been unwavering. Yet, here she was, her car a damning piece of evidence that contradicted everything I believed.

Anger surged within me, a fiery tempest that threatened to consume all reason. I felt betrayed, deceived, and the realization that Rui might have concealed such a significant secret from me tore through my heart like a blade.

I had searched for any signs of her involvement and found none, believing that our love was built on a foundation of trust and honesty. Now, as I stood there, staring at Rui's car, I felt like a fool for allowing myself to be deceived. She fooled me, tricked me , broke me.

It wasn't just a matter of secrecy; it was the betrayal of the deepest connection I had ever known. Tears welled up in my eyes, but they weren't just tears of sorrow; they were tears of a seething, righteous anger that demanded answers.

I gazed at that car, parked so innocently in the driveway, and realized that my trust had been misplaced. The world around me seemed to blur as I grappled with the tumultuous emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.
