Heeseung was deep into his game, completely focused, when suddenly the screen went black. The sound of the PS5 shutting off filled the room, and Heeseung’s victory cry turned into a frustrated groan.
“Are you serious?!” Heeseung shouted, not even looking up. “Can't you be careful—” He stopped mid-sentence as he looked over and saw Sunoo standing there with wide eyes, his hand still hovering near the unplugged cable. Jungwon and Ni-ki stood behind Sunoo, both covering their mouths with their hands, mirroring Sunoo's panicked expression.
Realizing who he was about to scold, Heeseung quickly changed his tone, remembering how Sunoo never liked being shouted at. “Ah, it’s okay, it’s okay,” he said, forcing a smile. “Just, you know, try to be more careful next time.”
Sunoo’s eyes flickered with relief, but he still looked a bit shaken. Jungwon and Ni-ki stayed quiet, still on edge from Heeseung’s initial outburst.
“Why don’t you guys play somewhere else?” Heeseung suggested gently, trying to ease the tension. “I’ll fix this up, no worries.”
Sunoo nodded, still a bit flustered, and the maknae line quickly scurried off to another room, whispering among themselves.
As they settled into their new spot, Sunoo let out a small sigh, still feeling a bit guilty. Jungwon nudged him playfully, “It’s okay, Sunoo hyung, Heeseung hyung wasn’t really mad.”
Ni-ki chimed in, “Yeah, he was just in the zone. But you know he can’t stay mad at you for long.”
Sunoo smiled, appreciating their attempts to cheer him up, though he still felt a bit bad. “I know, but still, I didn’t mean to ruin his game.”
Meanwhile, back in the living room, Heeseung took a deep breath, shaking his head at the situation. He couldn’t stay mad at Sunoo, especially not when he looked so scared. He silently vowed to be more careful with his reactions, especially when Sunoo was involved. After all, the last thing he wanted was to hurt his feelings.
Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki eventually found a new game to play, their laughter filling the room as they moved on from the incident. Heeseung could hear them from where he was, and a small smile tugged at his lips. As long as they were happy, he figured everything else could be fixed.
As the laughter of the maknae line filled the other room, Sunoo couldn’t shake off the lingering guilt. He knew it was an accident, but he still felt bad about ruining Heeseung’s game. After a few minutes of playing with Jungwon and Ni-ki, he quietly excused himself and made his way back to the living room.
Heeseung was busy resetting the game when Sunoo approached him, nervously fiddling with the hem of his shirt. “Heeseung hyung...” he started softly, “I’m really sorry about earlier. I didn’t mean to unplug the PS5.”
Heeseung looked up from the console, his expression softening when he saw the remorse in Sunoo’s eyes. Without a word, he reached out and gently patted Sunoo’s head, ruffling his hair slightly. “It’s fine, Sunoo,” he reassured with a warm smile. “Don’t worry about it. It was just a game. No big deal.”
Sunoo blinked up at him, still feeling a bit guilty but comforted by Heeseung’s easygoing reaction. “Really?” he asked, wanting to be sure.
“Really,” Heeseung nodded. “I’m not mad. I promise. Just be more careful next time, okay?”
Sunoo finally let out a relieved sigh, his shoulders relaxing as the weight of guilt lifted. “Okay, I will. Thank you, hyung.”
Heeseung chuckled and gave Sunoo’s head one last gentle pat before turning back to his game. “Now go on, have fun with the others. And don’t stress about this anymore.”
Sunoo nodded, feeling much better as he headed back to join Jungwon and Ni-ki. Heeseung watched him go, glad that he could reassure Sunoo and keep the mood light. For him, it was worth it to see Sunoo smile again.
