Different stories for different chapters! The aim of this book is to show Enhypen's bond whether in fiction or in reality! (*psst! Sunoo is the main focus to show ppl his members adore him!) Some other groups may make an appearance!
The weeks leading up to Jake's birthday had Sunoo bustling with secretive energy. He was determined to find the perfect gift, something thoughtful and meaningful that Jake would treasure. After all, Jake was one of the easiest people to get along with in ENHYPEN—a ball of sunshine who made everyone laugh, listened without judgment, and had a knack for making even the most ordinary days feel special.
But that also made him the hardest to shop for.
Sunoo spent countless evenings scrolling through online shops, sneaking out during breaks in their schedule, and texting Jungwon for advice. Every idea either felt too generic or not personal enough. He wanted something that spoke directly to Jake's heart.
One rainy afternoon, as Sunoo was aimlessly wandering through a boutique shop tucked into a quiet corner of Seoul, inspiration struck. Tucked in the corner of the store was a display of leather collars, leashes, and dog accessories—exactly the kind of thing Layla, Jake's beloved dog, would adore.
A warm smile spread across Sunoo's face as he picked up a caramel-colored leather collar adorned with tiny silver charms. Each charm was shaped like a paw print, with a small, elegant tag where Layla's name could be engraved. It was simple, stylish, and screamed Jake.
But Sunoo didn't stop there. He found a matching leash and a soft fleece blanket printed with adorable cartoon versions of Australian Shepherds. He even considered adding a bag of gourmet dog treats, but he wasn't sure if Layla had dietary restrictions, so he decided to skip that for now.
By the time Sunoo left the shop, the rain had let up, leaving behind a cool, crisp breeze. He held the gift bag close to his chest, grinning at the thought of Jake's reaction.
Jake's birthday came faster than Sunoo expected. The members had planned a small surprise party in the dorm, complete with a homemade cake (courtesy of Jay and Heeseung) and a chaotic pile of decorations that Ni-ki and Jungwon had haphazardly thrown together.
As Jake walked into the dimly lit living room, the members shouted, "Happy birthday!" in unison, showering him with confetti and laughter. Jake's face lit up brighter than the candles on his cake, his dimpled smile making everyone feel warm and fuzzy.
The gifts were presented after the cake-cutting. One by one, the members handed over their carefully wrapped packages. Heeseung gave Jake a pair of limited-edition sneakers, Ni-ki gifted him a video game they'd been talking about, and Jungwon found a sleek, minimalist backpack Jake had been eyeing.
When it was Sunoo's turn, he hesitated for a moment, suddenly feeling shy. The gift he'd chosen was so specific—what if Jake didn't like it? But he quickly pushed the thought aside. He had put his heart into this, and he knew Jake well enough to believe it would mean something.
"Here," Sunoo said, holding out the bag. His cheeks were a little pink as he added, "I hope you like it."
Jake took the bag with curiosity, his brows furrowing as he pulled out the neatly wrapped items one by one. When he unfolded the fleece blanket, a delighted laugh escaped his lips.
"This is so cute!" Jake exclaimed, running his hand over the soft fabric. "It looks just like Layla!"
Sunoo grinned, his nerves easing as he saw Jake's genuine excitement.
Then Jake unwrapped the collar and leash, his eyes widening as he examined the intricate details. "Oh my gosh, this is beautiful," he said, holding up the collar to admire the tiny charms. "Layla's going to look so fancy in this!"
"There's more," Sunoo pointed out, gesturing to the small envelope tucked in the bottom of the bag.
Jake opened it to find a gift card for a professional pet photography session.
"I thought you could use it for pictures with Layla," Sunoo explained. "You're always saying how you don't have enough good photos of the two of you."
Jake looked up at Sunoo, his eyes shining with gratitude. "Sunoo, this is... honestly, this is one of the best gifts I've ever gotten. Thank you."
The sincerity in Jake's voice made Sunoo's chest swell with pride. He gave a small shrug, trying to play it cool. "I just know how much you love Layla. And, well, you deserve it."
Jake pulled Sunoo into a quick hug, catching him off guard. The other members erupted into exaggerated cheers, teasing them mercilessly, but Sunoo didn't mind.
For the rest of the night, Jake couldn't stop gushing about the gift. He sent pictures of the collar and leash to his family, already planning when he could use the photography session.
And as Sunoo watched Jake's excitement, he felt a quiet satisfaction. He'd managed to find something that wasn't just a gift but a reflection of Jake's love for his dog—a perfect way to say, "You're special to me."
