Different stories for different chapters! The aim of this book is to show Enhypen's bond whether in fiction or in reality! (*psst! Sunoo is the main focus to show ppl his members adore him!) Some other groups may make an appearance!
The dorm kitchen buzzed with the clink of pots and the sweet scent of caramelized sugar. Sunoo, determined to surprise his members with a late-night treat, was meticulously preparing Tanghulu. The glossy sugar coating on the strawberries gleamed under the soft kitchen light, but things weren't going as smoothly as he'd hoped.
"Just a little more..." he whispered to himself, stirring the hot sugar syrup. His tongue peeked out in concentration, his focus entirely on achieving the perfect consistency.
As the syrup began to thicken, Sunoo grabbed a skewer of strawberries to dip. The bubbling liquid shimmered, but as he tilted the pot to coat the fruit, a drop of the molten sugar splashed onto his hand.
"Ah!" Sunoo yelped, jerking his hand back instinctively. The skewer clattered onto the counter as he cradled his hand, hissing at the sharp sting spreading across his skin.
The sound of his cry echoed through the quiet dorm.
Sunghoon, lounging in the living room scrolling on his phone, froze. "Sunoo?" he called out, already on his feet. Heeseung and Jungwon, who were gaming nearby, abandoned their controllers, exchanging alarmed looks before rushing toward the kitchen. Ni-ki, Jay, and Jake trailed close behind.
"What happened?!" Sunghoon demanded as he skidded into the kitchen, his eyes immediately landing on Sunoo, who was clutching his reddened hand.
"I-It's nothing," Sunoo stammered, his voice betraying him as tears pricked the corners of his eyes. "Just a little burn."
"A little burn?!" Sunghoon snapped, his voice laced with panic. He grabbed Sunoo's wrist gently, pulling his hand closer to inspect it. The skin was already angry and red, a small blister forming.
"Sunoo, this isn't nothing," Heeseung said, his tone serious but calm. "Did you run it under cold water?"
Sunoo shook his head, guilt washing over him. "I didn't think—"
"You're supposed to do that immediately!" Sunghoon interjected, dragging him to the sink. "Why didn't you call us? You don't have to do everything alone!"
As Sunghoon held Sunoo's hand under the cool stream of water, Ni-ki frowned, hovering close. "Hyung, you scared us!" he said softly.
Jake, rummaging through the first-aid kit, pulled out burn ointment. "It's not too bad, but it's definitely not nothing. Here," he said, handing it to Sunghoon.
"I'll do it," Sunghoon insisted, carefully patting Sunoo's hand dry with a clean towel before applying the ointment. His movements were deliberate, his usually teasing demeanor replaced with uncharacteristic seriousness.
Sunoo, meanwhile, looked down, feeling a mix of embarrassment and gratitude. "I just wanted to make something nice for you guys," he mumbled.
"You don't have to hurt yourself to do that," Jungwon said, his leader mode activated as he placed a comforting hand on Sunoo's shoulder.
Jay crossed his arms, giving Sunoo a pointed look. "And next time, maybe call for help instead of playing MasterChef alone?"
Sunoo pouted slightly, though a small smile crept onto his lips. "I didn't think it'd get this bad."
"It's okay, Sunoo-hyung," Ni-ki chimed in, trying to lighten the mood. "You can just bribe us with something easier next time. Like instant ramen."
Everyone chuckled, the tension finally easing.
Sunghoon, however, wasn't laughing. His eyes darted between the burn and Sunoo's face, still etched with worry. "Promise me you'll be more careful, okay?" he said softly, his voice low enough that only Sunoo could hear.
Sunoo nodded, touched by the concern in Sunghoon's gaze. "I promise."
The members stuck around, watching over Sunoo like hawks as he sheepishly returned to the Tanghulu. This time, Sunghoon took over handling the syrup, refusing to let Sunoo near it.
When the finished Tanghulu was finally served, Sunoo beamed as the members dug in. Even with the burn, their happiness made it all worth it.
And as Sunghoon quietly checked his hand again before they went to bed, Sunoo couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and care surrounding him.
