Chapter 19

Ramiel stared at the nurse, she was changing Camilla's drip, he had called for a nurse when Camilla woke up. After changing her drip, the nurse left. He moved to where she sat, Camilla was seriously injured, Nyx was even more injured. Ramiel was curious to know what happened, he hated to see Camilla in this state, he disliked the fact that she was so injured, he felt so bad, he wanted to know who did this to them, so he could avenge.

Staring at her closely as he sat beside the bed, he asked "Do you feel hurt anywhere?" He had a worried look on. He has been unsettled since he saw Camilla and Nyx in that state, he couldn't help but worry.

Camilla shook her head in reply, her throat felt sour, she guessed it was because of how she was pinned to the wall. She looked at Ramiel who was extremely worried and..... curious. She knew he would be, he would be curious as to what happened, why was she and Nyx in this state?

Was she ready to give him answers?

No she was not, she didn't even know what to tell him, she didn't know what answers to give. She can't tell him that her mafia boss attacked them, it would only lead to more questions therefore exposing her identity.

Ramiel stared at her, he was finding it hard to ask her what happened, he didn't know if she wanted him to know, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, she hasn't said anything about the incident, he was guessing she was hiding something.

"How is Nyx?" Camilla asked

"She is fine. She is receiving treatments in the ward next to ours" he informed her.

"I want to see her" Camilla said trying to sit up.

Ramiel pinned her back on the bed gently "you are not fully recovered. Nyx is fine" he said.

"Ramiel it's really important I see her, I want to make sure she is fine" Camilla said.

"You are injured too, you do that right? Are you willing to risk your health?" Ramiel asked.

"Nyx is in that position because of me" Camilla mumbled, Ramiel heard her though.

"What do you mean because of you? Is there something I should be aware of?" Ramiel asked.

Camilla rested her back against the pillow as she sat upright "no" she said.

"You won't tell me what happened?" Ramiel asked. He guessed correctly, he knew she wouldn't say anything, there was definitely something she was hiding.

Camilla was silent. She wanted to tell him but she couldn't, she saw the hurt look on Ramiel's face, she badly wanted to talk to him but she couldn't, she couldn't risk being exposed.

"Camilla I met you and Nyx seriously injured and bleeding. You don't want to say anything to me? I don't deserve an explanation" Ramiel asked seriously.

"You do but I can't really tell you" Camilla said.

"You can't tell me what happened?" Ramiel asked surprised.

"I can't" Camilla replied in low tones. She seriously couldn't tell him anything, there was nothing to tell, she noticed the sad look on his face, her heart pricked.

Ramiel sighed disappointed "Camilla are you hiding something from me? Is there something I should know?" He asked.

Camilla was silent. She didn't want to talk about this again, all she needed was to see Nyx, she wanted to make sure she was fine, Nyx was seriously injured and it was all her fault, what was she thinking when she decided to fall in love with Ramiel, she knew the consequence of her actions but yet she went ahead to fall in love, silly her!

Ramiel sighed "let me get you something to eat" he said, he won't pester her again, he felt hurt though that she was not telling him anything, he was worried but he wouldn't force her to talk, he knew she would when the time is right.

Ramiel left her to prepare food.

When a nurse came to give her her medications, she used to opportunity to ask her "please do you know what ward my friend is in?"

The nurse raised an eyebrow at her "what is the name of your friend?" she asked.

"Nyx" Camilla said deciding to omit Nyx's father's name.

"She is in the next ward" she told her impatiently.

"How is she?" Camilla asked. She didn't mind the look on the nurses face, she was just curious about her friend's health, she couldn't help but feel guilty, her mind won't be settled until she saw Nyx.

"Seriously injured" the nurse said.

"Please can I see her?" Camilla asked worried.

The nurse nodded and after giving Camilla her medications, she took her to Nyx's ward. Seeing Nyx laying on the bed in her ward, Camilla burst into tears, Nyx was seriously injured, she was on oxygen, a drip was connected to her hand, she looked pale, Camilla felt pity for her, she was in this state because of her.

With tears in her eyes, Camilla moved to Nyx's bed, she grabbed her hands and squeezed on it gently.

"Nyx I'm here" she sobbed as she pushed Nyx's hair behind her ears "I'm so sorry you had to go through all these pains because of me, I should have listened to you, I was so stubborn, I didn't listen to you now see what I have caused" she sniffed "I didn't mean for any of these to happen, I should have known better, the consequences of my actions, I will make things right, I will take you away from here" Camilla said.

She had decided, unloving Ramiel was difficult, it would be hard for her, the best way to get over him was to stay away from him, she would disappear, change location, she had to get away from Ramiel to be able to get over him and focus on her mission, her goal. She has been distracted for two long, though she was glad, she had had a taste of the life she always wanted, she had had a taste of love, care and happiness, a total difference from the life she grew in, the life she was used to.

"It is for the best" Camilla said to unconscious Nyx.
