Maithili's Pov
"Careful," Aarav mutters from beside me as I walk ahead with the little bit of light coming from the torch from Aarav's phone, I had as usual left my own phone in the room when I had come downstairs.
"Are we going the right way?" I ask as we've been walking for thirty minutes now, trying to locate the house we're staying in. When I ran out earlier this evening, it only took me ten minutes to reach the middle of the forest, or wherever I ran to when I got angry at Chaaru, but now, after thirty minutes, we still can't find our way out of the dense forest.
"I don't know," Aarav says from beside me, he was walking close to me, understandably as the torchlight was minimal and we both had to be careful as we walked ahead to make sure we didn't stumble upon something or someone. A shiver ran down as soon as I realized that there could be snakes wandering around here and I hated them.
"What if we get lost?" I ask.
"I think we're already lost little princess," Aarav says as he stops and checks his phone.
"What are you doing?" I ask as I see him scrolling through his contacts.
"I'm trying to find a signal, the bar is at one percent," he says and I almost groan. Why did I run?!
"I'm sorry," I say and he looks up.
"What did I tell you this morning princess?" He asks as I remember him telling me not to do formalities with him and I give him a guilty smile.
"I forgot," I say and he shakes his head.
"Yes you did, now you've to do what I want as promised," he says and my eyes go wide.
"Okay," I answer immediately as if it wasn't a big deal, that's when I realized it is because I have started trusting him.
"Now that we're in the jungle, pick any animal you want and sing a song in their language," he says and I look at him horrified, not exactly look because honestly, I couldn't even see his face right now.
"What? No, I'm not going to do that!" I say and he sighs.
"This is the punishment, Miss. Maithili Rajput, if you don't do it, I'm not going to talk to you," he says and I make a face.
"No, it's not something a princess would ever do," I say and hear him laugh in the dark.
"I told you, you're a princess in the palace, now you're just Maithili aka little princess," he says and I could hear his voice beside me and I had the urge to go and hold his hand and tell him it's only because I'm unable to see anything properly.
"Still, it's a stupid punishment," I say.
"Nothing is stupid for me," he says and hands me over his phone, "No watch and listen," he says and all of a sudden he starts barking and I watch horrified as he starts singing some random song I couldn't comprehend, and I start laughing.
