Maithili's Pov

I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on my door, I was feeling way too tired to even wake up as I sat on the bed and came to my senses as I realized I was not in the Palace but somewhere else. I recalled the last day and groaned as all the bits came back to me and I realized I was at Ahana's house.

I stood up and walked towards the door and on my way looked at the time on the wall clock ahead of me, 11.15 am. What!! I never sleep this long, ever!

I open the door to see Ahana standing outside, I give her a shy smile, "Good Morning, I did not realize I slept that long," I say.

"No worries, you look exhausted, I hope you had a good sleep," Ahana says as I nod my head and I can hear some sounds in the background and I look at her as she nods her head.

The news must've spread by now all over India about the missing Princess as we walked towards the TV in her living room and looked at the ongoing news and my eyes watered a little. I could see my Mom and Dad, the King and the Queen, worried, as my Mom had dried tear strains and her eyes looked red. They were standing far off in the palace talking with the guards and the Police as the reporter stood outside the gate giving us what they have known so far.

I see Snaaya being interrogated by some female police officers on the far side with her bodyguards around her, and I worry as I realize I couldn't spot Mark and Sam. I hope they did not get into any trouble while helping me out.

Next, the camera focused on my would've been husband Lakshya, who stood beside his arrogant mother as they talked bad about me and my parents and I fist my hands tightly.

"She never really wanted to marry my son, I mean, if she even had a little bit of manners in her, she wouldn't have run away from her marriage,"

"I don't know who she ran away with, I hope she realizes she is a Princess and not some common girl who can do as she pleases,"

"Do you think her parents are even valid to rule now that their own daughter doesn't want to carry on their royal legacy?"

"She should be punished severely when she is found, she did not just ruin her own family image, but even ours, not that we have a problem with finding a more suitable and more sophisticated wife for my darling son,"

"I think she had an affair with one of her friends and she ran away with them, who knows? Should've kept her on the leash instead of giving her so much freedom, didn't her parents know better?"

And it went on and on as tears flowed down my eyes at the disgusting words spilling out of my had been mother-in-law and her son. On one hand, I was relieved I wasn't married to Lakshya but on the other hand, I felt bad that I left Mom and Dad alone to deal with all of this.

"Hey, sit down, you don't have to watch all this," Ahana says and shuts down the TV as I keep staring at the blank screen.

"I shouldn't have run away," I mutter under my breath as I sit down, my legs feeling heavy as if I did not have any energy to remain standing. Suddenly the doorbell rang and I looked towards it scared, did they find me? I had left my phone in the Palace itself because I knew they could've tracked my phone by now, so who-
