Maithili's Pov
"Oh my God, what are you doing here?" The girl Kaira whisper-yells staring at me as I look at them nervously and look back at the open front door.
"Can you please close the door first?" I ask them as Ranbir doesn't let go of the knife that he was pointing at me and asks Kaira to go and close the door, as soon as the door is closed I take a sigh of relief.
"Now speak," Ranbir says to me as I glare at him. No one spoke with me this rudely, but I let it go knowing he didn't know the reason I was at his girlfriend's house and it seemed to him as if I was trespassing.
"I came here yesterday with Aarav and Ahana," I answer them as their eyes widen with surprise at my answer but they don't say anything else.
"So Ahana knows you're staying here?" Ranbir asks and I nod.
"How do I know you're telling the truth?" Ranbir asks with the knife still pointed at me.
"I'm telling the truth," I say and look at him with a pointed glare, "Would you please lower down that knife now?" I ask Ranbir.
"No, I don't believe you," he says and looks at Kaira, "Call Corgi, I haven't spoken with her since morning, and she hasn't picked up my call," Ranbir tells Kaira who takes out her phone to call Ahana as I sigh and just stand there until their confusion is cleared.
"She isn't picking up the call," Kaira says as Ranbir's pointed knife comes back towards me and my eyes widen.
"Where is Ahana? What have you done to her? Why isn't she picking up the call?" Ranbir asks as Kaira approving Ranbir's question looks at me.
"He is right, even I haven't spoken with her since she disappeared suddenly from the wedding yesterday, and then suddenly she tells us not to come to her house because it is mosquito infected, do you think we believe that?" Kaira asks as I groan inwardly praying for Aarav to come home soon.
"I'm going to call the police," Ranbir says and my eyes widen.
"No, please stop," I say, "I swear I'm not lying, Ahana isn't picking up your call because she is at her internship, maybe she is busy," I tell them.
"How do you know about her internship?" Ranbir asks.
"Because she told me about it!" I say, now irritated with his interrogation.
"I th-" Ranbir was about to say something more when we heard a noise coming from the door, Kaira took the knife she had put down and pointed it at the door as Ranbir pulled Coco towards him, with his knife still pointed at me, as I prayed to God that it should be Ahana or Aarav at the door or else their friends were going to hand me over to the police.
"What the hell? Who is it? He knows Corgi's house password?" Ranbir asks horrified.
And suddenly the door opens as an irritated Aarav enters inside, "This bloody lock," he mutters to himself as he closes the door on his way inside as I take a huge sigh of relief. He hasn't seen any of us yet as he walks inside.
