Maithili's Pov
It's been five days now that I have been living with Ahana and everything has been fine, the police are still out looking for me and I have heard that my Dad has been requesting the police officers to check and verify every single house in Jaipur, and that was something I was worrying about, it's been on the news since last night.
Aarav won't let me watch the news for more than ten minutes, but whenever he goes back home I put on the TV, or whenever I get time I catch up with the news on my phone. I have started using the phone Mike has given me, it has a new number and I'm sure I can clearly call Mike or Sam but I'm unable to press the call button fearing that what if they're tracking Sam and Mike's phone and what if they get in trouble because of me.
These last five days had been so different and unusual than my everyday life that it felt like I was in some parallel universe, every morning Ahana would wake me up, or sometimes it was me who woke her up, we make breakfast together but it is mostly her teaching me how to make it, but I enjoyed making breakfast with her.
When she leaves for her internship, I stay home and sometimes go through the news channels or read some books Ahana has at home, sometimes Aria or Kaira comes and stays with me the whole day accompanying me or sometimes it's Aarav. He is here almost every day but leaves whenever he has some work, he also said his internship would be starting soon, and he was going to work under Dhruv Shetty, a big-time criminal lawyer, but he said that he was having some trouble getting selected as the competition was tough and many other people were also eager to work under him.
Whenever Aarav is at home, I don't realize how fast the time goes because we have so much fun together, he has so many things to tell like his adventures where he and his friends went to, or the trips and treks and what all happened there or all the fun they have whenever they plan a day trip or a picnic, it felt so good to listen to all those stories, it always felt like I was amongst them and living that moment because he had that way of telling those stories, he just makes it sound so realistic.
I also got to know from Kaira that they have four more friends who I haven't met yet, Aayan, Abeer, Varun, and Ira, apparently, Aayan was in Goa visiting his family, Abeer and Ira had gone visiting some Botanical Gardens in few different cities and Varun was busy with his Internship as well but the company he worked for hardly gave him any leaves so he only meets them on weekends.
I came out of my thoughts when I felt a nudge near my legs and I looked down at Coco who was asking me to throw her the toy so she could go and fetch it, I chuckled as I took it and threw it and watched as Coco ran trying to catch the toy and bring it back to me, we have been playing this game since last fifteen minutes, Ahana was out doing some grocery shopping and Aarav hasn't arrived yet so I was alone playing with Coco.
That's when I heard the keys juggling and realized that Ahana was back and I stood up ready to help her take the bags inside, as soon as she walked inside I knew something was wrong as she hurriedly locked the door behind her, and kept the bags on the couch and went towards the window, opened it a fraction and peeked outside.
