Maithili's Pov
"How does this look?" I ask, turning towards Aarav as I try new earrings from the stall we saw on our way back.
"It's good," he says nodding his head, "Try that one," he says giving me another Jhumka and I take it excited and put it near my ear and try it on, it was a little weird to see myself in the mirror with sunglasses and a mask on while I tried those earrings but I had to do it to keep myself hidden.
"I think I'm in love with this place," I say looking around as I give the shopkeeper five sets of earrings to pack, I wanted to buy more, but I have limited cash right now and I can't very well shop whatever I wanted.
Every time I would want an earring it was always the servants or my personal maids who would buy things for me so I never really had a say in what I wanted to buy and what not and I was enjoying my time selecting the earrings and trying them on, I only wished I could see myself as I tried them.
"Me too," Aarav speaks, and I turn towards him, noticing he was watching me as he answered and my eyes widened but I didn't let my thoughts win because I could not and won't think of something that would ever come true, Aarav would never like a girl like me, and even if he did, our match was impossible.
"What are you thinking about?" I ask, breaking the silence as I open my purse to pay but Aarav had already beaten me to it and handed over a two hundred rupee note to the shopkeeper as I watched shocked. "What are you doing Aarav? I'll pay, you-"
"Shh...Monty," he says as he takes the small bag with my earrings and holds my hand as he pulls me towards the exit as I enjoy the warmth his hand is giving me.
"You didn't have to pay, I'll pay you back," I say and see him turn towards me.
"I won't take a single rupee from you," he says as I watch him amused.
"But it's-"
"No but's little princess," he says as we walk towards the car we had booked for the day. "I never let girls pay," he says grinning and my smile vanished at his statement.
Of course, he must've bought so many gifts for so many girls.
"Oh, that's nice," I comment and he chuckles.
"Don't worry, I take back the money from their boyfriends," he says and I watch him confused.
"What?" I ask as we sit in the car as the driver starts driving towards the house we were staying at.
"I'm talking about Ahana, Aria, and Ira," he says and chuckles, "I make sure their boyfriends pay me back," he explains.
"Oh, and what about other girls?" I dig in deeper as she thinks.
"What other girls?" he asks as if it was a stupid question.
"The ones you buy gifts for," I say and this time he looks at me confused.
