Caroline sat in the Salvatore boarding house on their couch nursing a glass of bourbon that Damon had given her half heartedly.
Her mind was wandering as she listened to the breathing of her mom downstairs, she would be there for the next few days until the vervain was out of her system. Then Damon would compel the fact they were all vampires from her mind.
She just wished her mom could accept her but she thought Care was some monster now, she couldn't even look at her. The one time she had met Care's eyes her mom had noticeable disgust in her expression as she looked at Caroline.
Though nothing was worse than the way her mom looked at her when she killed that deputy.
Caroline was so sucked into her thoughts she didn't even feel her cell phone vibrating in her pocket.
"You gonna get that Blondie?" Damon asked casually as he entered the room, at least he was wearing a shirt this time.
Caroline jumped and scrambled for her phone before declining the call, barely looking at who it was until the person called a second time.
When Care glanced at the screen to see who it was she froze before groaning and hitting her forehead a few times "Stupid stupid idiot, how did you forget she was coming?!" She asked herself as she once again declined the call.
"What's going on blondie?" Damon asked, his eyes narrowed as he looked at her.
Caroline huffed and began texting a reply "My sister, she's coming home for spring break and me and mom were supposed to be home to greet her. How the hell do I explain Mom being MIA for the next few days?" she asked as she stood up and began pacing.
"Wait, you have a sister? What sister? Is she hot?" Damon asked, not knowing that Barbie came with a buddy. More importantly, he had no idea Liz had another daughter.
Caroline glared daggers at him "Don't you dare hit on my sister! She's three years older than me, and way too smart for your crap. Technically she's my half sister, we have different dads, hers has never really been in the picture" Care said as she glanced towards the basement, wondering how the hell she would explain any of this.
"Oh Scandalis, by my calculations Liz would have been in her teens" Damon said, wagging his eyebrows.
Caroline glared at him, fighting the urge to punch him or stab him with the nearest sharp wooden object "Not as if it's any of your business but Mom had Elly when she was 16 after spring break. My grandparents weren't happy but supported her and when my dad came alonge he didn't mind that mom already had a kid so..." She said with a shrug, getting awkward when it came to her family drama.
Damon raised a brow "Liz named her kid Elly?" He asked, being tactful and changing the subject, one of the few times Damon has shown such consideration.
Caroline rolled her eyes "Elly is short for Elinor, when I was little I couldn't say it right" she said, crossing her arms with a huff.
Damon made a cooing sound "Awe how sweet" he said sarcastically.
"Just shut up, I have no idea how to explain our Mom being gone for three days! I suck at lying to Elly!" Caroline said, obviously concerned.
Damon scoffed "Worse comes to worst compel her, just don't tell her the truth" he said, annoyed at the dramatics of teenagers.
"I can't compel my big sister!" Caroline said, horrified by the prospect.
"If you can't do it I will, the last thing we need is another teenager to get in the middle of vampire business. Now go deal with your sister Blondie" Damon said, motioning to the door. Caroline had already spent one night on his couch he wasn't looking forward to another.
