"Trever was a good man, helped me with my dissertation on sexual deviance in the Baroque period. I was going for my psych Ph.D." Slater said as they all sat down.

"Slaters been in college since seventy four" Rose explained to Elinor and Damon.

"When I was turned. I have eighteen degrees, three masters and four Ph.D's" Slater said, causing Damon to shift in annoyance.

"That's impressive, though if I became a vampire I definitely wouldn't spend all my time in school" Elinor said, kicking Damon's foot under the table when he went to say something rude. She just knew whatever came out of his mouth next was going to be offensive by the annoyed expression on his face.

"We need your help, if someone wanted to get in touch with Klaus how'd you hook them up?" Rose asked, seeing the brewing tension in Damon just like Elinor had. Damon wasn't exactly being subtle about it.

"Craigslist, I respond to a personal ad that gets sent to somebody who knows somebody who knows Elijah, and that's where my line ends" Slater told them.

Damon raised an eyebrow "Really" He asked doubtfully.

Elinor piped up "No he's legit, it's how I find most of my customers. Most of the supernatural shit is bogus but some of it it's real if you know where to look" She said before standing up.

"I'll be right back" Elinor said, looking towards the bathrooms before she grabbed her bag and left. What could she say she had to go pee.

While she was washing her hands afterward she heard a loud shattering sound and screaming, a lot of screaming.

She rushed out to see the windows of the coffee shop shattered, people were bleeding but vampires were screaming bloody murder as thier skin burned. Elinor looked around for Damon and saw him helping Rose out to the garage with his jacket over her to block the sun.

Elinor glanced around before quickly following behind Damon to the parking garage.

She found Rose crying and Damon standing there awkwardly. Eventually she climbed into the car and they drove back to Mystic Falls.

"Hey, give me a call when you wanna get that ring" Elinor said quietly to Rose before getting out of the car and heading inside her house.

Seeing all those people screaming in pain, hearing their skin burn had shaken her. Seeing Rose so terrified of Klaus wasn't doing her much good either.

Why did the Originals want her? She was so confused about everything she had learned. It was one thing to find out Stefan and Damon's sister looked just like her but now the oldest vampires in existence?!

It was a few days before Elinor willingly put herself in the middle again by going to the Salvatore boarding house.

Elinor figured Rose probably wanted that daylight ring and she was right. When she arrived Rose already had the ring she picked out ready so it only took Elinor fifteen minutes to finish the spell.

Rose grinned as she tentatively put her hand in the sunlight and it didn't burn. Once she knew it was safe she stepped in front of the open window and let the sun bathe her face.

"Thank you for this, you have no idea what it means to me" Rose said with a blissful expression on her face.

Elinor chuckled "Five hundred years without the sun would suck, I'm happy to help. Though if you're feeling nice I could always use a little boost, especially with all the Klaus drama going on" She said, offering a hand with a hopeful expression.

Rose nodded "It's the least I can do" She said as she grabbed Elinor and let her siphon the magic from her.

Elinor didn't hold on too long, Rose was an older vampire so she was made of more powerful magic that had had more time to grow. There was plenty for her to take before Rose would desiccate, though she might get hungry.
