Chapter 20

Dela had been flying on cloud nine after finding out Nik and Elijah were on their way home while the Scooby gang panicked.

Caroline had told everyone that Klaus and Elijah were coming back as soon as her sister left and they were all worried he wouldn't listen to the deal they made with Elinor and Elijah. Damon didn't even trust the deal in the first place but he had been outvoted.

Stefan and Damon had been bothering Dela about creating a 'Back up plan' in case Klaus went after Elena which she had violently turned down.

"Let me make something crystal clear to you, I don't care about Elena. I do care about those who love Elena and will be affected by her death so I'm doing what I can to keep her unharmed. Klaus will listen to me he has for a thousand years, it might take some persuading but he'll come around" Dela told her brothers, not hiding how little she actually cared about the human doppelganger.

"I don't believe that" Damon said with a scowl making Dela roll her eyes.

"And I don't give a shit, since you aren't getting this. You. Do. Not. Have. A Fukcing. Choice. Nik will break the curse one way or another and I will help him do that. And if you two try and get in the way of that I'll kill Elena just for the hell of it. How about that?" she asked sarcastically, getting tired of their constant efforts to save a girl that isn't even in fucking danger.

Damon glared at her and took a step forward "If you touch her-" He started saying but Dela cut him off.

"What? You'll kill me? Been there, done that. Try and kill my family? Many older and smarter people have tried and somehow we always come out on top" Dela said coldly, meeting his angry gaze with a cold stare of her own.

Stefan stepped between them "This is getting out of hand, we won't do anything to hurt Klaus or Elijah as long as Elena remains alive" he said, trying to calm the tension.

Dela rolled her eyes "That's all I want but this one seems not to understand Elena is in more danger from a car crash than Klaus and Elijah. Currently, she's more in danger of me killing her out of annoyance to get my brothers to stop obsessing over another Petrova fucking doppelganger, literally nothing about her is unique" she said sarcastically to Damon who just scowled and rolled his eyes.

Stefan gave her a look, basically telling her to knock it off making her raise her hands in surrender.

They sit in awkward silence for a few moments before Dela lets out a sigh "Look I'm sorry for snapping at you but I'm trying so hard to keep your girlfriend alive and keep the peace. I feel like I have everything I want in the palm of my hands, I can have you both in my life, I can have Care, and now I can have my family...I need you to stop trying to mess it up" she said, meeting Damon's eyes, her own pleading for her big brother to stop being difficult and work with her.

Damon looked at her for a moment before nodding, making her finally relax. Maybe this whole thing could work in the end.

"You can hide in the bathroom if you want Katherine" Dela said sarcastically as they waited for Elijah and Nik to arrive at the hotel.

Dela had been radiating excited energy while Katherine paced the length of the hotel room before trying to put as many doors between herself and Nik as she could.

As soon as Dela had given her permission Katherine was gone and she could hear several doors closing, the bitch might have just hidden in the cabinets. Not that it would help her with Nik, luckily for Katherine Dela was still intending to hold up her end of their little bargain.

When she heard the sound of the hotel keycard being swiped and the door opening she was walking towards the door, when she saw Nik come strutting in she squealed and ran to him and jumped into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck.
