9) Summons

Tiara-

"You'll be away for three days," Tiara sighed. "That is worrisome."

"I know," Drake pulled her into an embrace and kissed her. "But it's a summons. I have to go. Don't worry; Margaret will be here and protect the clan while I'm away with Sebastian."

Tiara hugged him tightly. "I'll miss you."

"Me too," he bends down and kisses her belly. "I'll be back soon, little one."

Even though the baby is the size of a bean,  Drake talks to her belly; he wants the baby to recognize his voice when they are born.

"Daddy," Salome clings to his leg. "Don't take Sebastian."

"I have to take him," Drake picked her up. "It'll only be three days; it's good that you don't have school tomorrow. We'll be back on Sunday night. And I'll bring you something."

Salome huff. "Fine."

Tiara didn't want to say goodbye.

"Be safe," Tiara nuzzled his cheek.

Drake groaned. "Don't worry, I'll come home safe."

The moment they left, the house felt empty. Margaret did arrive seconds later and kept them company.

Tiara sat on the rocking chair to knit while Salome played upstairs in her bedroom. She was knitting booties and a hat for her baby.

She couldn't do this for Salome. She's excited because she gets to enjoy this pregnancy. She doesn't have to hide it from anyone.

"Hello?"

Tiara gazes at the front doors. "Kristy."

"Hey," Kristy smiled. "I decided to come since you can't go to the Red clan." Kristy hugged her. "How are you?"

"I'm good," Tiara set the needles down with the yarn. "And you?"

"Craving marshmallows with bananas, which Sean finds gross," Kristy smiled.

Tiara chuckled. "At least you aren't constantly wanting maple syrup with bacon. I think Drake is sick of it."

Kristy laughed. "I can imagine."

Margaret enters with a basket of laundry. "Kristy, hi."

Kristy smiled. "Hello Margaret, I didn't know you would be here."

"I'm taking over the clan," she joked.

Kristy giggle.

"Aunty!" Salome came running in, holding a doll. She hugged Kristy. "And baby cousin."

"Hi," Kristy smiled. "How are you? How have the two weeks of school been?"

"It's fun," Salome smiled.

"A few problems, but they have been solved," Tiara sighed.

Tiara was upset when Salome came home with a bruised face. Salome wasn't that bothered by it. Drake did explain the situation.

Being the daughter of Drake is dangerous. But this time, it was because of Sebastian. Sebastian's brother targeted Salome because of him. Drake said Sebastian almost caused a commotion.

Drake said they should expect a situation like this on occasion. Tiara isn't sure how she'll handle all of this.

"I'm glad things are going well," Kristy smiled.

"Mommy, I'm going outside!"

Tiara sighed. "Stay close by and do wander off. Stay away from the woods."
