Drake-

"My ass is numb. Can we take a break?" Kiba groaned.

"Yes," the Elder sighed. "Go on, children, take your break. And dinner will be ready soon, so don't stay out too long."

Drake stood. "We aren't children."

The Elder stood and smoothed her dress. "I'll consider you all children. Once you reach my age, then I'll stop calling you children. I mean, you act like children." She walked out, the three elders trailing behind her.

Drake scoff.

He stepped out to the hall, and Kiba and Sebastian followed him. They went to the courtyard.

"Drake."

Drake stopped and turned. "Hmm?"

Clay sighed. "I need to speak to you privately."

Drake did not want to be alone with this guy. But what choice does he have? He must hear what Clay has to say.

"Fine."

They excused themselves and went into one of the private rooms. Drake kept his distance.

"Temporary," Clay said. "Margaret managed to distort the curse."

Drake notices the gold ring. "Did you secretly get married?"

"No," Clay smiled. "It's a Bride's spell; don't ask me about it. It took me days to process it, and I still am. Ask Margaret about it; she knows about it. I'm bound to this girl, the girl we met at school, Rose."

Drake stood up straight. "Salome's friend?"

"It's hard to explain, but Rose is the daughter of the witch who cursed me," Clay sighed. "And Rose is my soulmate. It's all so complicated."

Drake whistle. "Wow, that's insane. Your soulmate is the daughter of your enemy. The universe is cruel."

Clay grimace. "I can be around Tiara only for a few minutes."

Drake tsk. "Sure, if I allow it."

Clay sighed. "I don't love her; it's not me. You keep me from seeing her."

Drake chuckled. "I bet I can."

Clay growled. "Tiara isn't your prisoner. She's allowed to see people."

"I know she can," Drake glared. "But I'd rather Tiara doesn't see you; you may try to take her like you take everything else. It runs in your family."

Clay cursed. "How often do I have to tell you I'm not like my father."

Drake shrugged. "I won't believe you until you prove it to me."

"I have Rose," Clay said. "What more proof do you want?"

Drake is being petty and trying to push Clay to his limits. He stepped away and opened the door. "Are we done?"

"Yes."

"Good."

Drake left the room because he was losing his temper.

He met up with Sebastian and Kiba. Sebastian's father had joined them, and they were arguing.

"Did it ever cross your mind that maybe my mother sought out my father?" Sebastian asked.

That was a heavy insult, and Brock slapped Sebastian. Drake stepped in.

"Sebastian is no longer part of your clan; you can't strike him like you used to," Drake said. "Unless you want your head rolling down the aisle, I suggest you back off."
