Clay-

Clay sat on the sofa, staring at the window. He's a bit flabbergasted. That girl from earlier, Roseline, is a witch. Yet his wolf kept saying that he was their soulmate. He kept calling for her and wanting Clay to talk to her.

Clay did talk to her after Drake left. He followed her outside like a creepy person, asking if she was a white witch. Rose freaked out and told him she couldn't break his curse to find someone else. She ran off to a parked car and left.

She knew about his curse. Then again, she's a witch; she must've sensed it.

But what makes Clay all dumb is that he allowed his wolf to take control earlier. Clay doesn't want a witch for a soulmate, but he wants her. She's so beautiful. That red hair has to be natural. And those bright green eyes that seem to pull him into her arms, he can't stop thinking about her.

"Oh, Clay?" Kristy had come downstairs. "What are you doing sitting in the dark looking like a creep? You frighten me."

"Sorry," Clay said. "I was lost in my thoughts."

Kristy grimace. "Is it about the curse?"

"No,"  Clay smiled. "I believe I found my soulmate, but I don't know how I feel about it. I don't know if the curse will allow me to love her."

"What do you feel now?"

"I want her," Clay clenched his chest. "But there is this pinch in my heart telling me no, and I believe that's the curse talking."

Kristy knelt in front of him and held his hands. "Look, you need to fight the curse; if Margaret can't break it, you'll have to do it. Try to get to know this girl and spend as much time with her."

Clay groaned. "That's complicated, she's in school."

Kristy gasp. "Oh my, well, friendship is a good start."

Clay chuckled.

Kristy stood as Sean showed up. "What's going on? Why are you two in the corner like that?"

"Clay had some personal stuff he wanted to discuss," Kristy smiled. "Don't ask; Clay will tell you when he's ready."

Sean groaned.

"Good night."

Clay waved at them, and he stayed downstairs. He still had a lot to think about.

He woke up in the morning on the couch. He didn't go to bed. Lately, his bed feels empty and cold.

Clay spends all day lost in his thoughts. Margaret showed up at around five.

"I found a way," Margaret said. "Let me explain before you get excited. I found a way to dim the curse. It's a temporary fix until I break it for real. I can break the curse, but it'll take a while for me to finish the potion."

At this point, Clay will do anything Margaret asks him to do. "What's the semi-permanent solution?"

"Come in, my dear."

Clay's eyes widen. She's here.

"Ah?" Rose blinked. "Aunty, you didn't tell me this man was the one who my mother cursed!"

Clay glared. "Aunty? Mother?"

Rose flinched and stood behind Margaret.

"I'll make tea," Margaret said. "You two take a seat and talk among yourself."

Clay stood there glaring at Rose. He felt betrayed and angry.

Rose held her cross bag and sat on the couch. She bit her thumb and shook her leg.
