Chapter VIII: Training with the Paynes

Meanwhile, at the Payne house, Kenny and Lucy heard a knock on their door, and he went to answer it. It was Robby, who had Kenny's backpack, Katie, and her boyfriend Joey.

"How'd you know where we live." Kenny asked. Robby then showed the address on the backpack, which was 1623 Otsego Street, Encino California, 91436.

"Thanks." Kenny thanked Robby, who asked, "So, how's Shawn? Is he still getting out this summer?"

"They gave him an extra month because he spit in a guard's face. As for Lucy, she got released six months ago and is in the middle of probation." Kenny explained with a frown.

Robby chuckled. "OK, sounds like him. Hope it was the guard in the computer lab."

"It's my fault." Kenny told Robby, Joey, and Katie.

"What do you mean?" Joey asked.

"Shawn and Lucy had some bad friends at school. I caught one of them stealing from my parents. Guy came at me, but Shawn and Lucy got between us. Both of them beat him pretty bad. They were just defending me. With him gone, and until Lucy got released, I had no one." Kenny explained.

"Hey, you're not alone. I get the feeling of not being with a family member." Katie comforted Kenny with a small smile. "My mom, Shannon, is in rehab, but my sister Julia and I still love her."

"That's why I hoping you..." Kenny was about to ask Robby for help, but he was interrupted.

"Look, I can't be your tutor. I have to focus on the All-Valley." Suddenly, a notification sound chimed from Kenny's phone. It was a new TikTok video.

"I gotta see this." Joey asked Kenny to show him his phone, but Kenny was hesitant. "It's nothing."

Robby stuck out his hand. "Give it, c'mon." When Robby had the phone, the video had Kenny opening his locker and milk spilling out of it. The words "Got Milked?" popped up on the screen. Robby realized that he had to do something before the bullying got worse. "I can show you a couple moves."

Kenny, Lucy, Robby, Joey, and Katie went to the backyard to train, though Kenny was still having trouble throwing a move at Robby. "Let's run it again. I'm not gonna make contact. All right? But that means you have to stay in the fight. All right? Bow. Fighting stance. Elbows in. Remember, always look your opponent in the eye. Ready? Fight!" Robby reminded Kenny before he threw some moves at him, though before he could, Kenny flinched at soon after, Robby had Kenny pinned on the fence. "Y'know, I'm not sure I buy that you're Shawn's brother." Robby was beginning to be skeptical.

"Well, Shawn was always big and strong, okay? All I can do is run." Kenny shot back.

"Then use that. Instead of using your speed to run away from your enemies, use it to run at them." Robby suggested. "Come on, let's try it again. Let's go. Let's go, come on. Ready? Bow."
