Chapter XX: An Awkward Father, Son, Daughter, and Future Son-in-Law Conversation

Meanwhile, Johnny Lawrence was at his apartment cooking dinner for him, Miguel, Katie, and her boyfriend Joey while he was listening to Push It To the Limit from Scarface. Johnny taste-tested it. "Not manly enough." He added some beef jerky, and heard a knock on the door. He opened it, and saw Joey, Katie, and Robby. "Hey Robby, hey Joey, hey Katie. What's going on? You wanna come in?"

"Hawk and some of your students have been bullying this kid." Joey told Johnny. "Tell them to stop or there'll be payback." Robby reminded Johnny. "Payback. What the hell is Kreese putting you up to?" Johnny asked. He wanted to make sure that his son wasn't brainwashed by Cobra Kai.

"He ain't putting us up to anything. Robby's trying to help this kid." Katie answered. "If those assholes don't knock it off, I'll do what I have to." Robby told Johnny.

"Don't do anything stupid. You already got kicked out of school." Johnny reminded Robby.

"Miguel attacked me. I was trying to stop the fight. He escalated it." Robby told Johnny his side of the story.

"Look, I wasn't there. All right? But I do know about Cobra Kai. Kreese is brainwashing you, just like he brainwashed me." Johnny reminded Robby.

"See, that's the difference between you and me. You put all your trust in Kreese. I don't trust anyone anymore. I'm just using Cobra Kai to get what I want." Robby explained.

"Yeah, I'm sure you think that, but you're playing with poison. You don't know the whole story." Johnny warned Robby, but he countered, "I know enough. And I know what's been holding me back. For as long as I can remember, I've been afraid. Afraid that I would end up like you. But I'm not gonna have that fear again, because I'm better than you." At that point Johnny didn't know what to say. "There's nothing left to talk about. So unless there's something else, I have dinner to make."
