"Alright, here's the plan!" Camille said as she paced back in forth in front of Tyler who watched her intently. "Mom and dad always sacrifice a lot to make us happy. Now it's our turn to do that for them!"
"How do we do that?" Tyler questioned.
"I'm glad you asked!" Camille stopped pacing and pulled out an easel that had a white paper covering it. She flipped it over, revealing a drawing that looked like it was done by a nine year old. That's because it was.
"This is mom and dad." She pointed to the image of two stick figures. Tyler couldn't tell if they were hugging each other or just had really weird arms. Maybe it was both.
"And they're going here." She turned the page, revealing a tall box- or building- that was decorated for Christmas. "The fancy secret agent spy people Christmas party!"
"Ooh, it looks fun." Tyler said.
"Yes, but there's one thing." She turned to the next page. It had a picture of two stick figures in a circle with a line crossing them out. "It's no kids allowed!"
"Boo." Tyler folded his arms with a pout.
"No, it's a good thing. Because we can't go, mom and dad can relax."
"Why can't they relax with us?"
"Well, we can be a handful or something." Camille shrugged. "Anyway, while they're at the party, it's our job to make sure they enjoy themselves!"
Tyler clapped his hands excitedly. "I like that plan."
"What're you two up to in here?" Tony said as he and his wife entered the room, finding their children huddled around a drawing of... something and chattering secretively. Camille immediately covered up the drawing, hoping her dad didn't already figure out their entire plan.
"Something about a plan?" Layla raised an eyebrow at them and the two children squirmed nervously.
"Plan? What plan? There's no plan!" Camille said.
"Well that's not suspicious at all." Layla said as she and Tony shared a look.
"I'd love to get to the bottom of what you two are up to, but your mom and I have to go now. We don't want to be late."
"Again." Layla rolled her eyes.
Tony shook his head playfully then gave his children a serious look. "Now you two better behave for Sissy."
"We don't wanna hear a bad report, or anything about some sort of mischievous plan." Layla eyed them for a moment before softening and kissing them both on their heads.
"We'll behave so good." Camille said.
"Yeah, our plan is to-." Tyler started and his sister cut him off before he could reveal anything.
"To behave as good as possible!"
"Good." Tony said.
Just then the doorbell rang and the family went to answer it. "Hey Sissy." Tony said as the young adult stepped inside.
"Hey Tony, hey Layla." When she saw the kids her smile brightened. "Hey kiddos, come give your Auntie Sissy a hug."
The two kids laughed as they rushed at her, nearly knocking her over with their enthusiastic embrace.
"Thanks for agreeing to watch them." Layla said.
"Of course!" Sissy smiled, "I'm happy to spend time with these little angels."
"Angels, huh?" Tony said as he glanced at his children. They smiled suspiciously wide, staring up at him with big, "innocent" eyes.
"We should be back around ten." Layla told Sissy before turning to her kids one last time. "We'll see you two in the morning. Behave for Sissy."
"We will!" The kids said as they waved their parents off.
"So, when does the plan start?" Tyler whispered to Camille.
She smiled. "Soon."
"Alright, little racers, what do you two wanna do?" Sissy asked.
"I'm pretty hungry." Camille said, "Could we have something to eat?"
"Sure. Anything you had in mind?"
"Ooh, Mac and cheese!" Tyler said then added "Please."
"That I can do." Sissy said before making her way into the kitchen.
"Here, let me help you." Camille said as she followed. But just a few minutes later she returned with a smirk. "It's go time."
"What about dinner?" Tyler asked.
"That was just a distraction. We don't have time to eat!" Camille said as she grabbed a piece of paper and a purple crayon and began writing.
"What's that for?" Tyler asked as he tried to read it.
"It's just a note for Sissy so she doesn't worry about us." She told him as she placed it down where Sissy would easily find it. "Now, let's go!"
They checked to make sure that Sissy was still preoccupied then carefully and quietly left the house. "But how're we gonna get there?" Tyler asked. Just then a car pulled up and Camille smiled.
"Our ride."
"Hello little agents." Gary said as the two kids slid into the back of his car. "Where to?"
Camille passed him a card with a picture of her parents standing in a room with lots of people and a Christmas tree.
"The organization's annual top secret Christmas party?" He said. Camille nodded. "Are you sure your parents want you going there?"
"No questions." She said as she slipped him a hundred dollars in play money currency. Gary glanced from the money to the kids then gave them a small nod and began driving.
When they arrived at the Christmas party, they gave Gary a nod of gratitude before slipping out of the car. It was now time for their little mission to officially start.
"Alright, follow me. Try to stay out of sight. Especially around mom and dad. It is vital to our mission that they don't know we're here." Camille told Tyler. "Any questions?"
"What does vital mean?"
"I heard Miss Nowhere say it once. I think it's very very important."
"Oh." Tyler said. "But wait, what if Auntie Sissy calls mom and dad?"
Camille smirked. "We don't have to worry about that." She said as she pulled Sissy's phone out of her pocket.
"Uh oh. She's not gonna be happy about that."
"I know but we have to do this to make sure mom and dad are happy!" She said, "Now, let's crash this party!"
The two kids crept around the building until they found a back entrance and went in through there. When they got inside, they stayed on high alert, making sure to stay out of sight as they snuck around behind the decorations. Luckily, the room was so heavily decorated that they had plenty of places to hide.
"There they are." Camille whispered to Tyler. It took him a moment to scan the crowd before he finally saw them too. They were standing next to the snack table with Cisco who was talking to them enthusiastically.
"What're they talking about?" Tyler whispered.
"I'm not sure." Camille whispered back. "Let's get closer."
Hiding behind a cardboard cutout of Santa's sleigh, they crouched down a little over ten feet away from the snack table. Now they were close enough to hear the conversation. But it was less of a conversation and more of just Cisco telling them about all the cup holders in his new truck.
"Oh no! He's boring mom and dad!" Camille whispered to Tyler. "We have to do something!"
"But what?" Tyler quietly asked.
"I've got an idea. You stay here." She whispered before creeping closer. Diving and rolling like Tony once taught her, she landed under the table, unseen.
Glancing out from under the tablecloth to make sure no one was watching, she grabbed the dish with the ranch dip and dumped its contents out onto Cisco's shoe.
"Sorry Cisco." She whispered. She felt bad but she had to do what had to be done for the mission.
"Aw dang! Ranch got on my shoe! How'd that happen?" Cisco exclaimed. "I'll get back to you later Torettos, I gotta clean this up!"
Camille silently celebrated as he rushed away then made her way back to her brother. "Good job." He said with a little giggle. His sister quickly shushed him.
"Remember, we have to be quiet!" She whispered.
"Oh yeah." Tyler whispered, "What're mom and dad doing now?"
"Ooh, it looks like they're heading to the dance floor!" Camille whispered as they eagerly watched. The pair was about to start dancing when suddenly an alert on Tony's spy watch went off.
"Cool, a mission!" Tyler whispered excitedly.
"No, not cool! If they have to go on a mission they won't be able to have fun!" Camille whispered, "We have to do something!"
"I gotta idea." Tyler whispered. Camille listened intently. "I'll make a distraction and you get the watch."
"It's risky," She thought about it for a moment, "but it's the only option we got!"
Going separate ways, the two quickly got into place. Once Camille was hidden close enough to Tony and Layla that she could reach them with not as much of a risk of being caught, Tyler pushed a giant snowman decoration then hid.
Gasps filled the room as the snowman bumped into several other large decorations, causing them all to crash onto the ground. Tony and Layla looked up at the ruckus and Camille took that opportunity to spring into action.
Quickly yet carefully creeping closer to them, Camille pressed a few buttons on Tony's watch, turning off the alert and getting rid of the message. Then before they could catch her, she rushed away and ducked behind another hiding spot.
"Nice one!" She whispered as she and Tyler met back up behind the sleigh decoration. The young boy had to cover his mouth tightly to stop himself from giggling.
"That was fun." He whispered.
"Look! They're dancing now!"
The two kids watched as a slow song came on and their parents began dancing together. They were glad to see how happy they looked, but covered their eyes for a moment when the slow dancing pair began kissing.
The rest of the evening went well with only a few disturbances. There was one moment where someone almost spilled something on Layla, another issue where an agent tried to pull Tony away to dance, and at one point Cisco tracked them down to talk about the different types of food-related functions his new car had. But Camille and Tyler were able to take care of all those situations before they could ruin the evening.
When the event was almost ending and their parents seemed to be having a good time, Camille decided that their work there was done. "C'mon, our work here is done." She told Tyler as they made their way outside.
In the parking lot, a car was waiting for them and they got inside. "Where to?" Julius asked as he glanced back at them in the back seat. Camille raised an eyebrow at him. "Right, your home. Silly question." He said, "You sure your parents-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Camille leaned forward and slid him a hundred dollars. In play money, of course. "Right, no questions." He said as he continued the rest of the drive silently.
Camille and Tyler glanced at each other with proud smiles as she said, "Operation Christmas Party is complete."
