20: Intermission

"WHAAAAAAA?!" Natsuo guffawed. "You serious?!"

"Yes. I am very serious." Fuyumi replied, seated across from her younger brother in the room which they dined in. It was cold within the Todoroki residence more so than usual, either because of a slight change within the house's A/C system, or because of the uneasy chills running down the woman's spine from her anxiousness. "Everything that I've just told you I've also told Mom, and I said to her the same thing on how I feel about all of this. It's true, all of it. Every last word."

Natsuo hummed whole lightly tapping against the front of his forehead like an empty coconut. "Maaaaan, you know all those times I was just joking when it came to this sort of thing but, you really managed to spin this thing into something crazy huh? Guess I'm one to blame for it."

"Don't, even think about putting yourself as some kind of mastermind for this Natsuo you had nothing to do with it. I feel the way I feel because of what's happened outside of this home, not because of what's been said or done by you."

"Mm, maybe. But don't blame me if I don't think it's a coincidence when a couple years down the line? I start talking about babies at dinner and then several months later your tummy starts getting pretty bloated-"

"Natsuo."

"Heh, I'm just kidding Fuyumi you know I do it to pull your leg. Plus, there's nothing wrong with what I was gonna say anyways. Babies are cool, so long as they don't go through what we went through of course."

"If, that were to ever happen I will take care of it. If. But, regarding everything I just told you, how do you feel about it? And be honest don't say one thing now just for you to change your mind later this isn't ice cream at the store that you're always complaining about because you got the wrong flavor. Just be honest."

"I mean, is there really anything for me to say that I'm not with this whole thing you got going on?" Natsuo smiled. "You're my big sister Fuyumi I trust you, everything you've done up to now has always been for the better of Shoto and I. Of course, I'm not saying this decision of yours would somehow make our lives easier but it's just going to show that it's understandable to trust you to know what you're doing. Now if things gotta get rough around here just know I'm gonna be steppin' in and putting my foot down alright? Nobody's gonna be disrespecting any Todoroki brother OR sister anytime soon."

Fuyumi sighed in a deep breath of relief. "Thank goodness. You really had me worried that you were going to start saying a whole bunch of nonsense there. Thankfully it wasn't so."

"You were really that worried about what it is I had to say? Come on Fuyumi I'm probably the most easygoing person in this entire family of course I was gonna be cool with this. Not sure why I was on the list of people you had to be concerned about."

"It's not you I was worried about. Well, it is you but just the general opinion of everybody is what worries me. I want this to be...normal, or at least, as normal as it could be if it ever comes out to be a real thing. If this isn't something that you boys would be comfortable in knowing or seeing of course I'm going to be worried about it. I don't want to do anything that might separate or cause tension between us I, want this to be something we could all live with."

"Well if that's the case I think it's the wrong Todoroki son that you're worrying about when it comes to me. Actually not even son just a Todoroki DUDE in general considering you still have to tell him about it too. Do, you plan on telling him about it?"

"I plan on telling everybody about this Natsuo, nobody's going to be in the blind. Not even Dad."

"Tch." Natsuo scoffed. "I wouldn't even bother telling him anything even if somebody paid me to do it. Me personally? I think you're better off just keeping this to yourself cause I can already think of several ways of how that conversation's gonna go. Forget that guy Fuyumi, knowing him he's just gonna try and stick himself into the situation and somehow make it all about himself. What if it's just another repeat of what he did last time with Mom? Except NOW? It's his own daughter with somebody she's going out with."
